Dr. Nico Mousdicas, MD

Dr. Mousdicas said I had a condition that was incurable..... I had seen him at several visits to his office, but when I decided to go to a new Dermatologist, they determined the problem and had it resolved it in 3 visits.

Dr. M is an extremely caring doctor and spent as much time as necessary with my daughter as needed.

It was fairly easy to get an appointment and the wait time was only about 15 min. The supporting staff was professional. This is where the positive experience stopped. I went in to get a yearly skin check (as advised by my physician and previous dermatologist) since a parent died of skin cancer. Dr. Mousdicas seemed amused and even chuckled in disagreement at me getting a yearly skin check and let me know in a condescending pat-on-the-head way that it wasn't necessary. He then asked in the same snarky way if I had noticed any spots that I was concerned about and then quickly followed up with everything looks good and shook his head back and forth while repeating that I didn't need yearly checks, with a- you're wasting my time-tone. Interestingly enough I've had many spots removed and at least one was precancerous, but even with the family history and this he not only didn't seem to care, but also appeared genuinely bothered that I came in at all. While there I attempted to get the… acne, cysts, and sores looked at on my face, body and head. I have other serious health issues that are well documented and have even required hospitalization. I did not bring this up as he is a dermatologist, but he did due to some of the medications I had listed on the patient info sheet. Then this DERMATOLOGIST who's never even seen me before, let alone treated me, proceeds to tell me that there's basically nothing wrong with me at all and I need to avoid stress, and he starts talking about doing meditation. That's funny, I guess all the specialists I've seen and that are treating me, as well as, objective test results are wrong, and this guy is not only a genius, but also psychic. The crowning moment was when I called and asked for my diagnosis and records and the assistant spelled out hypochondriasis. So to recap: a dermatologist who's never seen me is smarter than doctors who have treated me for years, and can diagnose me as a hypochondriac without even looking at my records which clearly document physical medical issues. As absurd as the entire situation was, as a patient and person you realize when to cut your losses and not waste time on people like this. Avoid this one. Update-After reading other reviews it seems he has tried to accuse/ "diagnose" others with hypochondriasis too. Recently I went to a different dermatologist and he was able to diagnose the problem, gave me medicine, and solve the issue-Amazing!

Dr. Nico Mousdicas, MD is very knowledgeable and I'm pleased with how he found out what I'm allergic to. The second visit when I received my test results seemed very rushed and his attending LPN was working on "just speed function" Very unfriendly and I felt like I was being treated like she worked in a production line. She made me undress while she was in the room to save time and asked me to be seated in a chair so she could use the examining table as a desk for herself. She conducted herself as "Get the patient in and out as quickly as you can." I believe more time should have been taken in reporting the results. The rest of the staff and my first nurse on the initial visit is very friendly. I would highly recommend Dr Mousdicas for allergy testing but think both he and his attending LPN should try to offer a bit more of a personal touch to the service.

I was recommend to him after I had skin test done cause he is a specialist with what I have. When I visited him, he immediately said I don't have what I was confirmed with from the test results and instead says it is a mental habit. He continues to ask me if something dramatic happen in my life in order for this skin disorder to happen. I clearly told him no nothing at all caused me to do this, but he insisted something did. So apparently I have a mental disorder coming from a skin doctor. If he insists you have any type of mental disorder, leave because now I have a bill I am having to pay for someone who did absolutely nothing in order to help me. I have had this skin disorder for 3/4 of my life and I know for a fact it is not because of a mental problem but he will insist it is because he used to be a smoker. I am not prescribed to anything and I do not take anything but what do I know I'm no doctor I'm just the patient that has to deal with the "bad habit" skin disorder everyday.… Every visit I had, he kept pushing to me it's because of a bad habit even though I would say it is not. Have fun breaking your bad habit good luck to who goes.

Best dermatologist in the city. He saved my sanity. He was even recommended to me by another dermatologist who hand no fix for me. But he did!

Dr Mousdicas and his staff are wonderful. I found him amiable and attentive. He listened to my symptoms and took me quite seriously.

I have NEVER met such and egotistic and insensitive doctor in all my life! I seen him for a rash. When he came in, he asked why I was there and cut me off within a few sentences. He was confused and I needed to start at the beginning again. He examined me and told me i was not 'sick' there for what was wrong with me was due to scratching, not a rash, and he could not help me because I was 'not sick'. He continued interrupt me and argued everything I tried to tell him regarding my rash. He asked repeated questions until he received the answer he wanted. He did nothing for me; no testing, no explanation, no nothing. So my local Doctors and I are managing what we can with the continued rash.I will not recommend him to anyone!!! I have informed my Doctor and the referring Doctor of the treatment I received from this so called doctor. He was more interested in inflating his own ego by bragging about training new Interns than listen. Please, do not waste your time going to him. … You will leave feeling VERY upset.
