Dr. Nicola Gerardo Cascella, MD

Dr. Cascella is very responsive and knowledgable. He isn't dismissive about any information you share with him. He truly seems to have the best interest of his patients at heart. We followed him from Towson to JHH. He has been treating my son for a few years and I appreciate all of his efforts.

The following is my opinion based on my experience at Dr Cascellas office. Do not be fooled by any positive reviews you read on this doctor. Please notice that all of these positive reviews were written by former associates of Dr Cascella from his time at Johns Hopkins. Dr Cascella now has at a run down private practice on Clinton st. When I visited his office, they did not even have a chair adequate for me to sit on. The staff was appallingly rude and too preoccupied to assist me in any way. I had to stand the entire tie I waited for the Dr which was over 30 minutes, and throughout the entire course of the evaluation which caused me great pain and distress, and a loss of mobility for the following several days. Dr Cascella helps Social Security by writing evaluations to assist them in denying the claims of seriously disabled individuals. If you are scheduled to see Dr Cascella by Social Security, DENY THE APPOINTMENT.. Set up an evaluation with YOUR OWN DOCTOR. You will be better off… fighting your disability claim without having the refute the defamatory evaluation Dr Cascella is going to provide. So far as a private practice, I would not step into this office for any reason if it was the last pace to get medical attention on earth.

I speak for many patients at Hopkins that absolutely love Dr. Cascella. He made incredible contributions to the field of schizophrenia as a researcher and is an incredible clinician as well--a rare combination of talents not found in any other faculty that works with schizophrenic patients at Johns Hopkins. He will be greatly missed at Hopkins. Its a huge loss to the Department. He is the most talented schizophrenia faculty member. We wish him the best...
