Dr. Nicolae Sorin Caraiani, MD

Dr. Caraiani graduated from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Carol Davila” of Bucharest, Romania in 1990. His post graduate training included internship and residency in Internal Medicine between 1993 and 1996, at the Beth Israel Medical Center – The Manhattan Campus for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York. He continued his post graduate training completing his fellowship in Nephrology and Hypertension (1996 to 1998). During his training he published several papers on dialysis access and dialysis modalities in peer reviewed journals.

Dr. Caraiani joined Suffolk Nephrology Consultants in 1998, and is attending on Staff at St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown, John T. Mather Memorial Hospital and St. Charles Hospital and Rehabilitation Center in Port Jefferson, New York. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology, and a member of the American Society of Nephrology. His clinical interests are: slowing progression of chronic kidney …disease, hypertension management, and post kidney transplantation follow up.
