Dr. Nicolai Ghenievici Mejevoi, MD

I am a Canadian visiting Florida this winter when suddenly I needed to be rushed by ambulance to the hospital for an apparent heart attack. At the hospital I was rushed into an operating room where Dr. Mejevoi was waiting. He installed stents in 3 carotid arteries. I vividly recall him talking me through everything he was doing as he stopped my heart attack and did the angioplasty work while I was on the operating table. He spoke with me later that day and explained everything that happened and would happen to me. I met with him and his staff a month later. Dr. Mejevoi saved my life. He and his staff at the Charlotte Heart and Vascular Institute in Port Charlotte were fabulous. He is obviously a great surgeon but he is also a fine man who takes the time required to answer all your questions in a patient and professional way.

Dr Mejevoi is an excellent doctor! I have had four procedures done by him , and have found him to be very patient and really listens to me and my problems! He also explains everything he will be doing in clear and simple terms!

I was referred to Dr. Mejevoi by his partner for a cardiac cath. My first impression was spot on. He is a gem!! He is a calm in the storm of fear & confusion, with the confidence & skill to match. I greatly appreciate the care he has given me having had both a radial & femoral cath.

Dr Mejevoi showed great skill as both a diagnostician, correcting a mis-read angiogram from another cardiologist, and a top-flight surgeon when he inserted a new stent in an artery that needed to be cleaned while an old stent had to be treated as well. Two days following the procedure I returned to full activity. That was almost 5 years ago. I am 73 years old now, symptom free.

Very professional and second to none. He kept me well informed before, after and the follow up procedure. Thank you Dr. Mejevoi for all you have done for me. God bless.
