Dr. Nicolas Nhuan Doan Van, MD

My elderly parent has been a patient of Dr. Nicholas Van Doan for several years. I accompanied my 93 year old parent today instead of the usual relative. I immediately noticed the doctor fussing with staff and talking very abruptly to another patient. He brought that same scolding attitude to my mother who was visibly shaken by his temper. Seeing my mother upset, I confronted him. This cardiologist knowing my mother's condition did not apologize but begin to defend his abhorrent behavior with a continued rant. I responded by informing him that his behavior was arrogant, unprofessional, uncaring, disrespectful and intolerable. To that he said "why don't you get another doctor." To which I responded "That's just too easy to do. Great idea." I spoke to the relative who usually accompanies my mother to only find out that she has seen him behave in this manner. She said he is quite moody. No thank you. He may know the science but he has no clue on how to treat the patient that… hired him.

My mother was a patient of Dr. Doan Van for over 20 years. Today, the doctor ended the longstanding relationship because he decided to be disrespectful and rude. Did I mention that my mother is 93 years old. The doctor was upset prior to entering the exam room. He became even more upset because he hadn't received my mother's lab results. His staff diligently worked to obtain the results by fax. However, the doctor continued with his tantrum and ordered my mother out of the exam room and into the waiting area. Oh and did I mention that my mother is 93 years old and uses a cane. Walking isn't her strong suit. My sister tried to remain calm because my mother was visibly shaken and was afraid. Chaning doctors is a big ordeal for my mother but Dr. Van told her that she could find another doctor, and we will do just that. Please consider this post before you choose this doctor. Every patient has the right to expect to be treated with dignity, kindness, compassion, courtesy, respect, and… understanding.

He found my problem in 15 min. when other doctors did not for 7 months !! My life was saved thanks to Dr. Van !! I don't agree with the negative feedback, he is a true expert, and a wonderful caring man !!

Not providing good care. Would not recommend.

I saw him once. Will never go back.
