Dr. Sparks is fantastic, kind, smart and thorough. Her staff is responsive to all questions. I cannot recommend her practice enough.

I very rarely leave reviews on Google but this one I had to share to hopefully warn pregnant women away from going to this office. Next week was supposed to be my first prenatal appointment with Dr. Sparks and would have been my 8th week of the pregnancy. On Wednesday morning I started to notice light spotting and some cramping so I called the office and spoke to a nurse. She said that is pretty common but to call back if it increases. Over the next few hours, both the bleeding and the cramping increased so I called again but no one answered so I left a message. Over an hour went by with no call back so I went into the office so that someone could check to see what was going on. When I got there, the nurse that I originally spoke to on the phone was sitting at the desk (still hadn’t called me back) and told me that I shouldn’t have come in because there was no doctor at the office that day, so no one would be able to help me with anything. After pushing back and insisting that I feel… like there is definitely something wrong and expressing how fearful I was, she said based on Dr. Spark’s protocol the only thing they could do for me was take my lab work that day and have me go back 48 hours later for more lab work so they could compare my levels. She said if I wanted an ultrasound that I could go to urgent care but she suggested not to because of covid. I left that office with no answers and the bleeding and cramping continuing to increase. I found a private ultrasound company who performed an ultrasound but she couldn’t find the baby. She suggested I might just be too early for that type of ultrasound and said that I could go to the ER to get a transvaginal ultrasound. That’s what I did. Many hours later, it was confirmed by the ER doctor that I was in fact having a miscarriage. After looking at the labs that were done at Watson clinic, it was clear that no one even bothered to look at them because even I could tell with no medical training that the levels were clearly too low for a 7 week pregnancy but I still have not even received a phone call about those lab levels. I went in for my following up labs because the ER doctor told me I needed them to make sure the miscarriage was naturally doing what it was supposed to do. It’s been over 48 hours since my first set of labs and over an hour since my follow up labs and they do not even know yet that I am losing the baby, because I still have received no phone call. If I hadn’t gone to the ER, I would still be scared with no answers. Now, on top of the worst day of my life being longer and more exhausting than it should have been, I am also going to have to pay an ER bill for services that should have been taken care of at my OB office. All of this happened during normal business hours. It is unacceptable for an OB office who is supposed to be there for pregnant women to not have a single doctor at the office during regular business hours.
