Dr. Nicole Lee Angel, MD

Dr. Angel let my sister’s health go so long that if she had not gone to the ER when she did, she would have been dead within 3 days. The cancer meds were causing calcium in my sister’s bloodstream (side effect of the medication). There is a medication that Dr. Angel should have given her to counteract this effect but she didn’t give it to her and let her go for months. She kept her tumor marker results from my sister for 3 weeks. She allowed her to get so dehydrated that her kidneys shut down! Fortunately, my sister had contacts at UAB in Birmingham so my mother drove her to UAB Emergency Room. The doctors at UAB were appalled at the condition Dr. Angel allowed her to get in. They said that if my sister had gotten there 3 days later, she would have died! Dr. Angel fussed every time my sister asked about having scans done stating “those cost $10,000.” In summary, the way my sister was treated by this “doctor” is so horrific that I wouldn’t let her treat my cow!

I have been Dr Angel's patient for 19 years. When I was first diagnosed my prognosis was very frightening. She has always been very efficient and eager to answer all my questions. I think sometimes we forget the desire she has for curing all and the hurt it must be to realize that is not in the Lord's plan. I am sad for her that some interpret this as non caring. This is not her. She is very knowledgeable and is constantly seeking new ideas for treatment.

My father was terninally ill. I just feel that she was cold and seemed uninterested in explaining to my elderly father what was going on with his cancer. She may be a great cancer doctor but she needs to work on her people skills. My father passed which we were expecting but I wish he had a different doctor that cared. A different doctor wouldn't have changed the outcome but it would have been nice to have someone who genuinely cared.

I would never use her. She treats her patients with no compassion. I experienced this with my sister in law who was her patient.

She is such a wonderful doctor! truly an angel.... she is great at her job and wears her heart on her sleeve! I've watched many walk in with no hope and end up changed and healed after being under her care. I have worked with her for 3 years and she has always been a pleasant woman.

I was 6 years out with RCC and having a bad reaction to Afinitor. My oncologist was in Birmingham, I hired Dr. Angel after being admitted to Providence from 30 days of fever and other side effects. I had given up and was ready to die, she came up with a coordinated treatment plan and after 30 days in hospital, 10 rounds of radiation and Torisal I am here to tell my story. She is my angel!

Easy to talk to. Answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable about what was the next course of treatment. .

If I had timed how long she spent with me it would have been 90 seconds or less!!!! I was in for a follow up appointment after having been found not to have mm 4 years ago. Dr. Angel acted like I was wasting her time to have even come in. I tried to ask questions, she cut me off mid sentence. I even followed her out the door trying to ask questions & she interrupted and told me which hall led to the desk to make a follow up for next year!!! Don't think so....not with her! I have many medical problems & have seen a lot of doctors - good and bad. Her rudeness & insensitivity top them all!!!

Cold and uncaring. Acts as though she is too busy to explain things. Does not want patient to ask questions. Would not recommend her to anyone.

This doctor is rude, short, snotty and seems shocked that you would have a single question about your loved one's well being. I am so disappointed in her.
