I was not impressed. It took over an hour to be seen, though the office staff was very kind. But Dr. Gordon was ultimately not endearing. I felt she rushed my appointment (a little over 7 minutes and that's it) and was fixated on one aspect of my diagnosis, rather than discussing all the different causes with me and how to treat them. She didn't review my scan records or allow for a discussion about anything, it was "just the facts" with no consideration or room for me to speak openly. She didn't ask any questions about the history of my diagnosis and how it's affecting me in the present time. I felt like a number, not a person. But the worst part was when I asked her how she would manage my pain until my endoscopy. She looked at me like I was crazy and said, "I don't do pain meds." She immediately moved on from the subject, didn't ask how bad the pain was, where it was, and didn't suggest alternatives. I was made to feel ashamed for wanting pain controlled so I can participate if life… again without being doubled over in pain and that's not right. Now I am having to go back to my PCP for pain management when it's supposed to be Dr. Gordon's problem. That's why she's the specialist. My PCP has exhibited far more care for my condition, including personally feeling my abdomen which Dr. Gordon did not do. I will be finding gastro help elsewhere, my experience plus other reviews have me concerned about trusting my healthcare to her. I'd rather not.
