Dr. Nicole Louise Schlechter, MD

I'm not a recent patient but she delivered my twins years ago in 1991 at the old Metro General Hospital. I named one of them after her. She was excellent back then! Wondered if she was still an OB/GYN doctor and she is awesome!!!

I thought she was a nice person, but she just did not listen to my health concerns. On my last exam at her office , the table was wet when I got up, my husband and I told her that we think my water broke. She came in the room and accused my of urinating on myself. I followed my gut and went to the hospital and my water did indeed break. I also told her that I noticed myself gaining weight rapidly and I could not breathe she said that it was normal and didn't check for anything else because I didn't have pre-eclampsia, she said I was eating too much but I told her that wasn't the case I eat regular amounts and healthy choices. Well a few days after my son was born I was still swollen and could not breathe, my blood pressure was so high that I went to the ER. I ended up getting diagnosed with Peripartum Cardiomyopathy (pregnancy related heart failure). After being admitted to the hospital and fluids removed from my body, Dr. Schlechter came to visit me and she apologized and said… "OMG you look like a different person now that the swelling is gone, and I am so sorry I didn't think to check you for Peripartum Cardiomyopathy because I only have seen it 2 or 3 other times." She didn't listen to any of my concerns because she was too busy getting ready for her vacation. I would not recommend her because she didn't listen and it could have cost me my life.

Dr. Schlechter is by far my favorite doctor ever. I have 100% trust in her. She delivered both my children, and made each experience incredible. She always makes me feel comfortable in each visit, takes as much time with me as I need, encourages questions and makes me feel like family. She is a true blessing and I couldn't ask for more in a doctor.

I have been a patient of Dr. Schlechter's since 2003. She has delivered all 3 of my children and helped us through the process of a miscarriage as well. She is brilliant, caring, witty, and decisive. I recommend her to anyone who needs an OBGYN or GYN!

amazing bedside manner. Anyone who can put my husband at ease in such a stressful time, is phenomenal in my book. We love Dr. Schlechter and refer everyone we know to her.

Horrible experience. I have a GYN because I need one and she was never there for me when I needed her. Nothing is ever done to treat any problem I have so I quit calling. She has the worst bedside manor! I wanted someone caring and compassionate to be my doctor and I received the complete opposite. I DO NOT recommend her to anyone.

I knew that my unborn child was not going to survive.Dr. Schlechter was very kind and nurturing,followed up after the birth.A 2 months later she removed a turmor with her as my doctor she very kind and compassionate.

I am pregnant with my first child and I really like Dr. Schlechter, she is very friendly, caring and quirky. I have been to another practice and they did not compare at all to Dr. Schlechter, I love the fact that when I go in I know that I will be seeing her not just some other random doctor of the practice. I will definitely go to her again in the future and recommend her to everyone.

She delivered my first child 10 years ago. The delivery occurred during a very difficult time in my life. I cannot say enough about the compassion and professionalism she showed. I have moved out of the area and I have yet to find a more knowledgable OB/GYN. I do not hesitate highly recommending her. Since it has been so long since I have been to her office, I cannot accurately rate the office staff. Her nurse at the time was wonderful and cannot imagine Dr. Schlechter settling for anyone less.

I have had 2 of my three deliveries with Dr. Schlechter and she was fantastic with them. But, I also had a child that was severely malformed that would not have survived through the pregnancy. Upon that diagnosis, the hardest time in our lives was cradled in her loving arms and I will never forget the care we received from her. I never imagined that we would ever experience a pregnancy with such sadness. But, when we tried again we were blessed with a third healthy child. She was as overjoyed as we were and understood our fears throughout the pregnancy. You can bet that there are many doctors out there that are great at delivering healthy babies, but Dr. Schlechter was amazing during our time of devastation and loss and I couldn't have asked for anything more. She changed our lives with her care!
