Outstanding care and communication. I have a somewhat complex set of hand issues and my goal is to figure out which of the various pathologies is causing my discomfort and functional problems so that I don't have interventions, especially any requiring long periods in a cast, that don't end up helping. As a physician-patient I am probably a bit of a special case (I know the names of some of the carpal bones). That being said Dr. Schroeder, working with two 4th year students, was exceptional. She listened to me describe my sense that my treatment had been wandering off the mark. She ed my hand and wrist, explained with a diagram what she thought was going on, and proposed a couple of next step options. I believe that I chose her first preferred choice but am confident that she would have accepted the other option had I chosen it.
