Dr. Nicole Diep Simpson, MD

Dr. Simpson's treatment plan is just to prescribe you medication with no changes to diet or exercise. She would dismiss any of my questions regarding changes to my diet because she thinks that food has no effect on my colitis. After a flare, she wanted to perform a sigmoidoscopy. I was very apprehensive, but decided to do it anyways. It was extremely uncomfortable, embarrassing, and at times painful. Even when I wanted to stop, she insisted that we continue and used "cancer" as a scare tactic to continue on. My new gastroenterologist even said that the procedure was unnecessary. Shortly after that and a couple tense appointments, I found a GI that I'm very grateful to have found.

I have had three colonoscopies in my life. This one was by far the most painful. Will not see this doctor again for this procedure.

Front desk was nice, and the nurse was really nice. I was a little nervous before I see her because of the negative reviews below, but I couldn't get an earlier appointment with another doctor I want to see. But as soon as she was asking me all the questions and listening my situation and concerns, I felt I'm in good hands. She was very patient with me, explaining all the possibilities, outcomes, choices that I have and gave me the codes when I asked her so I can do price estimate with billing dept. She was very gentle when she was examine me on the bed. I'm ready to book colonoscopy with her soon.

Dr. Simpson was friendly, caring and easy to talk with. She took extra time to listen to my concernes, answer questions and read notes from previous doctors. It was a complicated case. She gave us excellent service and I would highly recommend her to anyone with IBD. The building is beautiful. The staff is prompt, although one receptionist was maybe a little rough, but all were efficient. I'm very glad we were able to see Dr. Nichole Simpson. We plan to be a regular patient.

Everything went very well for a routine colonoscopy. Quick appointment and thorough pre-procedure information. Both the surgery center and the doctor were on time. Dr Simpson was friendly and informative before the surgery, although very quick to leave. Procedure went well, polyps found and removed. No pain, no complications. Biopsies were returned in two days, all negative. The office was friendly and responsive when I called with post-procedure questions, and provided additional written information quickly. I have recommended her to others.

My experience with Dr. Nicole Simpson is completely opposite to the other reviewers. She voluntarily worked overtime multiple times on my case while she's 5-month pregnant. She responded my online request message promptly to override the hospitalist's IV potassium order to save me from the misery. She timely called for GI consult when situation calls for it and is not afraid to bring her case to the PAMF tumor board to ensure the best care for her patient. In my eyes, she definitely is a very fine physician who strives for the highest quality of care for her patients. I would highly recommend her (and her husband Dr. Peter Simpson). The procedure wait time at Surgical Center is not entirely controlled by her. She spent over 3 hours on my colonoscopy procedure because of the difficulty of the case. If I had to wait extra time for the procedure, I would pray that everything is okay for the patient before me instead of blaming the doctor for the wait. As far as appointment… goes, you need to ask the front desk to transfer you to Daisy and leave her a message explaining your situation. She fitted me in a same-day appointment when I needed an emergency consultation.

Waited 4 weeks to get an appointment, kept me waiting 45 mins on the day of the appointment. During the entire 10 min appointment she made zero eye contact, did not examine me beyond a cursory pat to my abdomen, I left feeling no closer to knowing what my problem was. A follow up was absolutely impossible to schedule, she was not able to return my calls. If someone from PAMF is reading this, please make note, this one is a lawsuit waiting to happen. I am taking my care elsewhere, but she is grossly negligent & can be a serious liability.

She is incapable of listening. Very rude and snappy. Avoid at all costs.

1. Doesn't know how to listen 2. Doesn't ask all the relevant questions 3. Says "mmmmmkaaaaaaaay" every 5 seconds (as if she's listening) 4. Made me jump through hoops and a dozen tests to determine that I'm indeed having a flare up of colitis - something I told her I was having from the start. 5. Did not give me the instructions I needed to follow before an invasive procedure, had to look it up on the web 6. Difficult to reach Can't even explain how frustrating the whole experience was! If you're suffering from ulcerative colitis (or anything else for that matter!) see somebody else!
