Dr. Nicole Thomas

Nikki Thomas is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with 12 years of experience working with substance abuse and mental health issues. She has a passion for assisting clients in reaching their goals, developing coping skills, and working through life situations causing personal challenges. Nikki specializes in substance abuse, depression, stress, and self-esteem. Nikki completed her Master of Education in community-based counseling at the University of Lynchburg. She developed a passion for working with those struggling with substance abuse during her 10 years as an admissions counselor at a substance abuse treatment center. In her role there, Nikki learned the complex nature of addictions and how to effectively offer therapeutic interventions which support wellness. Nikki also has extensive experience working with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and life changes. Her approach to treatment includes motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and …mindfulness. Life throws challenges that can be overwhelming.
