Dr Nidhi Jacob, MD

I went to Dr. Jacob to change my birth control to an IUD, due to side effects of long-term birth control pills. Dr. Jacob's service was unethical and inappropriate: 1) Dr. Jacob did not inform me that most women need a ride home after getting an IUD due to pain and dizziness. I was stuck at the office for an hour as I waited for a family member, and I had to leave my car at the doctor's office overnight. 2) Dr. Jacob was not honest about the level of pain that occurs with an IUD insertion - which was very severe. She did not tell me that most women have severe cramps for several days, and I was unable to properly plan around graduate school and work. 3) Dr. Jacob did not give me anything for pain prior to the procedure, and did not have a working heat pad to ease severe cramping post procedure. 4) When I explained to Dr. Jacob that I was having side effects from taking birth control pills for 10 years, she completely ignored my concerns and explained all of the positive aspects of… birth control pills. 5) I wrote Dr. Jacob a letter explaining my disappointment with her services. She called me and asked me to come in to talk to her, but she was very cold and came off as annoyed and insulted at my concerns. She did not apologize.
