Dr. Nidhi Mitul Shishu, MD

Dr. Shishu is without question unlike any Dr. I have ever meet in my life. She cares more about her patients than any medical professional you have ever meet.

We have a long history and complex medical needs. She is outstanding.

I have been seeing her for years. Now my whole family sees her!! She has a great bed side manner, she tells you like it is. Thorough diagnosis. Really leaves no stone on turned. But, the office staff needs better management. But she is worth dealing with the office staff.

It is difficult to get a person on the line and does take forever, plan on being there 2 hours, but I keep going back because Dr. Shishu is brilliant. I couldn't wait for my children to turn 18 so they could see her. I know 3 other unrelated people who see her and love her. She is quick to diagnose a problem with just a couple questions, it's amazing.

Getting an appointment is perhaps the easiest aspect, once one navigates the phone system with its interminable "hold". The doctor spends relatively little time with the patient; the focus seems to be more on making a profit than practicing medicine. There is the feeling that you are being "upsold" on tests, procedures and prescriptions. It is, as noted by other reviewers, difficult to get a prescription, and the drugs of choice appear to be the latest and greatest marketed by the drug floozies who seem to always be present. The practice does appear to be in bed with the pharmaceutical companies- note the posting by the reception counter which notes when meals are preferred, as well as food preferences. As for obtaining copies of test results etc - forget about it! They will be promised but not forthcoming. Phone calls are not returned and the doctor is not available.

I had been the patient of Dr. Shishu from 2004. Quality of service the clinic offers has gone worse over period of time. Doctor does not show up on time. Diagnosis went incorrect twice. Scares the patients for silly reasons. Getting refills for prescriotion is a pain. Over all I am changing my doctor.

I have had several bad exerience with this Doctor. First of all scheduling an Appointment is a nightmare. No one would pick the phone. There is a option to leave a message for call back but no one bother to call back. Once we scheduled an appointment and on arrival we were told that they dont show the appointment in their system. The doctor promised us that she would give a call back the same day to discuss for lab results and reschedule the appointment but we did not hear back from her. So we finally called and requested another appointment. They dont care to call back the patient after the lab results. When you call back it goes it voice message as usual. Getting a Prescription is another challenge. I have been tried to get mine for three weeks now and have left numerous messages. Sometimes I was lucky to talk to the doctor's nurse and explained her the prescriptions I need. But with no luck. Once I also tried to talk to the doctor Nidhi Shishu and explained her the problem. She said… they would order the prescription. It has been 10 days since I spoke to her, still they havent sent the prescriptions for it. I am out of medication now and it hardly matters for them. So in short pls avoid Shenandoah Clinic for Sure !!!!!!!!
