Dr Nikhil I Khushalani, MD

Sub par knowledge and follow through. Questions I asked were met with the fact they were good questions which he never thought of. Very disturbing that when I asked a question which he identifies the answer as altering the path we take it's a question he has never considered as an expert in his field.

Dr. Kushalani is simply wonderful and fantastic at what he done. If you are lucky enough to be his patient, you are in good hands!

My husband (age 39) was recently dx with stage IV adenocarcinoma at the GE Junction (where stomach & esophagus connect) with mets to liver & lymph nodes. We went to RPCI for a second opinion as the prognosis is poor for this type / stage of cancer. We had an easy time getting an appointment with Dr. Nikhil Khushalani. They got us in quickly. We were very angry & disappointed that we had a 3 hour wait time until we were seen. His office was over booked. It was also a 2 hour drive to get there. Dr. Khushalani did not review the scans we sent on disc ahead of time which was part of the long wait. He did, however, contact our local oncologist to discuss our case prior to seeing us. Once he finally came into the exam room, we found that he had a great bedside manner. He spent a long time discussing things with us & seemed genuine & caring. My husband & I both really liked him. Radiation & surgery are not an option for us at this time. We decided to get chemotherapy at our local hospital. A… few months after being seen by Dr. K., I posted a general question about a specialized radiation that is available at RPCI. Dr. Khushalani called me back himself to talk about it. He could easily have had a nurse, secretary, or PA contact us. I was impressed by that. We are keeping in contact with Dr. Khushalani during the course of our treatment. We may consider going back to RPCI for a clinical trial down the road. All and all, we have a very good opinion for Dr. Khushalani & would choose him as our physician if we lived closer.
