I totally agree with the other person's review. Dr. Leon-Smith "... is in the wrong profession. She's more fit to be a prosecuting attorney that a doctor. She's rude, confrontational, and entirely unprofessional. She shows virtually NO respect to the patient. Would NOT recommend her to anyone for anything. I'm surprised she hasn't been fired yet." She was assigned to assess my service-connected disability at the VA Hospital in West Haven, CT from an injury incurred from an Iraq combat deployment. I was appalled at how blatantly rude, condescending, and dismissive she was from the moment I walked in the room. After several moments, I politely asked her if we could actually make eye contact and cordially discuss my injury in detail. To my surprise and dismay, she became even MORE rude, condescending, and dismissive. Ultimately, my condition required range-of-motion measurements of my hand in order to be rated by the VA. The minimal criteria was a 1.5 inch gap between two of my digits.… She took 3 measurements and read them aloud: 2 inches, 2-1/4 inches, and 2 inches. I figured all was well. Contrarily, when I received a claim denial decision from the VA 4 months later, It contained her recorded findings which were: 3/4 inches, 1 inch, and 3/4 inches. This was quite obviously intentional on her behalf and by no means an administrative error. She literally sabotaged my injury claim because I somehow offended her by asking her to be somewhat personable. I had to then file an appeal and it took 2 full years to finally receive a legitimate rating. My guess is that she's got a great attorney, because she MUST have been sued by now, and I can't fathom how she's been able to retain her medical licensure considering how she handles herself. Beware and avoid her at all costs.
