Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: My husband almost died in an accident and I was the wife, sitting in the recliner in his ICU room. I watched what the nurses were doing and I thought, """"Hey, I can do that."""" 9 months later I was in nursing school.What I want my patients to know about me:I will listen and try to document accurately their story. I will do a thorough physical assessment. I will refer to a specialist as necessary. I will educate. I will encourage healthy lifestyle behaviors. I emphasize healthy food and exercise.What I do when I'm not seeing patients:I love being outside - I am the caretaker for our property so I do all the mowing and gardening myself and I absolutely love it. I love to bicycle, hike, kayak, walk. I spend time in the early mornings with God, and then exercise before work. I love to entertain and we are always feeding people and having parties at my house. My family is not local so we have a wide range of friends.
