Dr. Nina Khin Maw Maw, MD

We moved to Rancho Mirage in '15. Dr. Maw Maw was recommended to us. We're from No. California and are accustomed to very short periods of time in the waiting room. Waiting and waiting is the 'norm' for this office. One time we waited an hour and finally walked out. For four years this office behavior has not improved. We're are close to selecting another physician, for my husband is disabled and these long waits only exacerbate his already challenged cognitive issues.

The billing system with this office is wack! I’m a biller myself and The CPT codes they use are incorrect. In addition, the customer service is not helpful at all! They never answer and when they do, they give you the run around. Besides this, I love Dr and her office staff. Bedside manner is amazing along with their front receptionist and nurse Michelle.

Dr. Nina is such a good doctor, she never fails to amaze me. She never leaves my questions unanswered and makes me feel better by the end of my visit. Her staff is just as good. They always welcome you with a smile, offer water to patients and go the extra mile of offering candy while we wait. Because they are so busy, I suggest calling Atleast a week in advance for medication refills and always having an appointment on the books with Dr just Incase because she schedules about 3-4 weeks ago. If you don’t mind seeing an assistant, they’ve scheduled me the same day which has been helpful.

Dr Maw Maw is simply the best! Although she is only there twice a week, the staff works with me. They always accommodate me. I’ve had to see the NP prior which wasn’t the greatest visit. First, she dresses like she’s going to a club which is so unprofessional. Second, She answered only some of my questions so I ended up back in their office a week later to get answers with a different assistant Liza, whom I loved. Overall, I would recommend this practice to others but only with Dr herself or Liza.

Dr. Maw Maw is simply the best. Although the past few visits have been with a nurse practitioner, my visits are always thorough with all of my concerns being looked at. The staff is great and always welcome patients with a Lovely hello and how are you. I am new to Medicare this year and had a lot of trouble understand referral process along with coverage on medications. However, a few of her employees answered all of questions. Michelle, Desiree, Jessica and Menny helped me so much to get everything straightened out. They rock!!

N.P. Lilly Lopez is great and through with the exception of following through with calling in prescription's. I have now had two instances were scripts were not given to the pharmacy. The first instance took my calling the office twice after driving to the pharmacy 2x to get my script filled. I don't have time for that lack of follow through. The second instance was for a compounded medication that should have taken 3 weeks tops to get and still nothing. I like the staff but will need to address this with staff during my next visit. Over worked? Get more staff to assist.

Prescription from doctor for breathing problems never called in. After three office visits, still no prescription. On last visit, Doctor took my cell phone number, promised to resolve problem and call. Nothing, no promised call, no prescription.

The wait was median, the wait in the room was the same. Dr. Maw Maw approach was caring and professional. She knew all about my case, and what she didn't know she asked. She knew immediately the type of tests I needed, and ordered them immediately from her phone. I was very impressed at her patience in explaining every test with me. A great lady and a great physician.

Dr Mawmaw has been my primary care doctor for several years now. She is very kind and compassionate and treats her patients like they are family. Her staff is just the same. The office nurse Michelle will always follow up. She makes all the patients happy with her sunny disposition. Just love this office, even if I have to wait a little.

Dr. Maw Maw and her N.P's are excellent. They are very patient and actually show interest in your health. I do think that Dr. Maw Maw is overworked in the time she is in the office. A good solution for this would be seeing patients in the AM. Even if its just one of her nurse assistants. I also love their staff! They are all so kind. For all the people they deal with daily, they deserve a big thank you and pat on the back. I hope they are rewarded ocasionally. They really are the best staff. Overall, I do recommend this Doctor. But i will say... If you have no patience, this office isnt for you.
