Niranjana Chellappa, MD

Dr. Niranjana Chellappa is a pulmonologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating conditions affecting the lungs and respiratory system. She earned her medical degree from Sri Ramachandra Institute of Health Education and Research in India before completing her residency training in India and later at Trinity Health in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dr. Chellappa furthered her expertise through fellowship training at Jefferson-Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is fluent in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

Dr. Chellappa practices at the FryeCare Lung Center in Hickory, North Carolina. She focuses on treating sleep-related breathing disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea in both adults and children. Her diagnostic capabilities include pulmonary function testing to assess lung capacity and breathing patterns, as well as asthma challenge tests to evaluate respiratory responses.
