Nirav Bipinchandra Patel, MD

LCDR Nirav B. Patel, MD, JD, is a board-certified plastic surgeon and U.S. Navy reservist. He cares for adults seeking plastic, reconstructive, aesthetic and oculoplastic surgery. He performs a variety of procedures, including breast reconstruction and aesthetic breast surgery, Mohs reconstruction surgery for skin cancer removal, eyelid and facial surgery, body contouring, non-surgical injectables, laser liposuction and facial trauma reconstruction.He earned his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. He also holds a law degree from Brooklyn Law School and and a Master of Science in biology from New York University. Living in NYC during 9/11 greatly influenced Dr. Patel’s career change from law to medicine and more recently inspired his part-time military service. After medical school, Dr. Patel completed his combined (3+3) residency in general and plastic surgery at the University of …California, Davis Medical Center, where he served as administrative chief resident. He subsequently followed that with back-to-back fellowships, the first in a breast and aesthetic surgery fellowship at Grotting Plastic Surgery in Birmingham, Ala., followed by oculoplastic and facial aesthetic surgery in Atlanta, Ga.His commitment to service and global health includes volunteer surgical missions to China and Haiti, where he provided cleft lip and palate repair to underserved communities.Dr. Patel has spoken at numerous medical surgical meetings and symposia across the U.S. and internationally. He’s an accomplished scientific researcher, author and invited presenter.Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Patel is a professional-level cellist who served as associate principal cellist for the Georgia Symphony Orchestra and recently joined the combined Marywood University-Wyoming Seminary Civic Orchestra. He has performed at venues including the Mondavi Center, Fox Theatre, Spivey Hall and Atlanta Symphony Hall.
