Unfortunately, my experience here was very disappointing. I was treated with condescension and judgment rather than compassion or curiosity. The provider criticized me for not undergoing a specific treatment, without understanding the full context — including the fact that it was an experimental and optional intervention recommended by a research hospital, not a standard protocol. My local doctors, after careful consideration, did not support the treatment due to the risks and lack of clear benefit in my particular case. Additionally, the provider seemed unaware of how difficult and costly this treatment can be to access, both in terms of insurance and availability. Rather than asking thoughtful questions or seeking to understand my history, she made assumptions and spoke to me in a way that felt dismissive and shaming. When I asked a basic question about treatment, she actually raised her voice at me — something I have never experienced from a physician before. It was one of the… most disrespectful ways a doctor has ever spoken to me. She then left the room and could be heard down the hall complaining about me to a nurse, apparently because there was a lab (a stool sample) I hadn’t completed yet. It had only been about two weeks since it was ordered, and I had just transitioned jobs — something I would have gladly explained if asked with any measure of empathy. It was a clear example of someone leading with judgment in ignorance — a deeply harmful approach in any healthcare setting. Patients deserve to be treated with respect, especially when making complex decisions about their care. That was not my experience here.

Dr. Siva is a wonderful doctor. I just had two procedures with her and her staff at Largo Med. thank you for the great care. I was nervous and they were awesome.
