Dr. Nirzar Samir Parikh, MD

Dr. Nirzar Parikh’s journey in medicine began at an early age in Mumbai, India, where he witnessed firsthand the vital role physicians played in his community. While he was naturally drawn to science, it was the ability to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives during their most vulnerable moments that truly inspired him to pursue a career in medicine.

As he advanced through medical school, Dr. Parikh’s sense of purpose deepened. He discovered a strong connection to patient care, finding fulfillment in listening to patients, understanding their concerns, and supporting them through their medical journeys. These values have continued to guide his approach throughout his training and clinical practice.

His passion for neonatal medicine first took root during his research in the intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) lab at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. This interest was further reinforced during his pediatric residency at Marshfield Clinic in …Wisconsin and ultimately led him to pursue fellowship training in neonatology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria.

Dr. Parikh is fluent in English, Hindi, and Gujarati, which enables him to communicate effectively with families from diverse backgrounds. This skill enhances his ability to build meaningful connections and provide personalized, culturally sensitive care that supports the best possible outcomes for newborns and their families.
