Dr. Nithin Karakala, MD

This Dr. Did not spend the time necessary to provide good health service. Was not willing to listen to me. Took miniscuial time with me. Was unable or unwilling to discuss cooccuring medical issues that affect my health overall. Simply read the latest test and tried to change longstanding medications. Put me on a diuretic because my potassium was high on one of several lab tests. I took one half of the pill and had severe muscle cramps. I did not change my BP medication as he requested. And my follow-up labs came back with my potassium in normal limits without following his recommendations. I personally feel that had I continued to use this physician he might have caused irreparable harm to my health and well being. I do not find him suitable as a kidney doctor in my situation I must maintain balance between multiple autoimmune illnesses. I found him unwilling or unable to work in a way to maintain balance between these complicated illnesses

lacks compassion

I had a lot of complication after my kidney transplant surgery and I was recently in the hospital for several days. Almost every day, he was critical of the way I was taking care of myself at home and was extremely rude and condescending in front of my family. A real bad doc with an attitude

Sometimes hard to understand his thick accent

He was my kidney doctor when my kidneys failed and they put me in at the VA. I did not care for his personality and he was always too busy.

tired of having to deal with these doctors from third world countries who think they are as good as American doctors
