Dr. Nithya Palanisamy, MD

Battling cancer is not easy and it is no fun, but this staff has been amazing and helped me so much along the way already. Dr. Pala is wonderful, sweet, kind, caring, smart, I love her. Margaret has been above amazing and very helpful and has gone above and beyond and I appreciate her. Even the financial person, Talia was really nice and helpful and the scheduling person and front desk. All of them, I could not be happier than I am with this group! Thank you for helping me through this difficult journey. You all are appreciated!

I was referred to Dr. Pala by my GP for low iron. When I arrived, I was sent to a separate waiting room and after 2 hours was finally seen. They were starting a new system that day and "lost" me. When the nurse came to get me, she said she thought I was in billing all that time. I was a brand new patient why would I be in billing with no diagnosis or plan? When Dr. Pala came in, she asked why I stopped taking iron like a mother scolding a child. I told her I was never told to take iron and thought I was there for her to help me. She told me I was anemic because of heavy periods. I explained that I don't have that. She then threw out two diagnoses without back up or proof. I had to ask for numbers which she gave me, told me to do blood work and come back in a month. As I was leaving, I asked the check out person if I needed to check out, she asked if I was coming back. I said "frankly, no, this was a horrible experience." She just said OK, like she didn't care. A month later, I get a… bill because they did not bother to go through my insurance and passed my labs on as self pay. Not only would I not go back, I cannot recommend this facility or Dr. to anyone! The front desk team were wonderful as well as the phlebotomist, but that was really it, the rest was very bad.

She always takes time to listen and I never feel like she just wants to get out the door. The staff is professional and helpful and everyone is good at explaining what is going on.

I have been seeing Dr Palanisamy for over a year after diagnosis of Follicular Lymphoma. She is knowledgable, and actively researches your particular cancer, and is willing to yield to a second opinion. She just cares for you and I feel she has my welfare as her priority. She spends the time in answering ALL of your questions, so her wait time is a little higher, but in cases of life and death, that is well worth it. I"ve trusted her diagnosis and treatment type with my life, and even MD Anderson confirmed the same. She is willing to write Rx's so that you can be more comfortable. Her office staff are very friendly and the whole office has a positive vibe to it.

Dr. Pala is a great doctor. She will actually spend time with you, and talk about treatment options (something very rare when dealing with specialists). She is one of the few docs I've seen that is actively engaged with her patients, rather than treating them like a medical record. Very personable, and I would say highly skilled. Prescriptions are filled promptly with me usually receiving a notice that it's ready before I even get home. Highly recommended.

I'm not comfortable with Doctors, she spent time with me explaining my complication and what needed to be done to get me better, she called hospital for emergency procedure for me. I wish other doctors would listen to her advice because hospital released me too earily without contacting her. She is intelligent and checked on me constantly when I was in the hospital, I continued to see her for aftercare. I'm blessed to have her in my corner

I have Dr Pala for a few years now. I have been fighting cancer for 3 years and have learned that the most important thing in picking a doctor is to find one that sees you as an individual person. She understands my lifestyle (young professional women with a young child and husband) she helps do whatever helps me feel normal which is often a challenge. I do feel that she cares about my long term care and what will make me successful and thrieve. I find she is a true advicate for me and will do whatever needed including calling me on a holiday to deliver news that she knew I was stressing over.

Dr. Pala is nice, but she doesn't seem confident in what she's saying sometimes, which makes me a little uneasy. The staff at her Frisco location is extremely nice...The wait is horrible though when seeing the doctor. If you're going int for labs you get right in, and right out.

When told about the side effects of chemo her statement to me about hair loss was "well, it will grow back". As a woman, hair loss is something I am quite concerned about. I felt she could have been a little more understanding. I wonder if she would feel the same way if she were the one confronted with the situation.
