Dr. Noe R Olvera, MD

Dr. Olvera has managed my rheumatology issues since 2018. He is competent, attentive, caring, and on time. As an old, retired RN (Baylor 1966), I have encountered countless doctors in countless situations. I would trust him with my children, grandchildren, and my 3 great grandchildren!

Dr. Olvera is a nice man but doesn’t follow up with patient concerns. He’s quick to push medications that have risky side effects, even when told by the patient that these medications aren’t working. Here’s some more meds, let’s up the dosage. He ignored my other symptoms aside from my diagnosis and tried to convince me that I would continue to feel “crappy” because that’s what happens when people have lifelong chronic conditions - basically he told me it was all in my head. Saw another rheumatologist who ran 28 labs right away to get to the bottom of my concerns while Dr. Olvera only ran 3. Dr. O placed me on a medication that bottomed out my immune system within 3-4 days and I spent 4 days in the hospital. It’s been 2 months and his office still hasn’t returned my call or checked on how I’m doing. Poor follow up all the way around. His front desk and nursing staff are friendly but they aren’t treating my healthcare needs.

Dr. Olivera got noticeably upset when I started physical therapy, which has helped me a lot. He is rude and condescending to me. His diagnosis does not agree with the results of the many blood tests, x-rays and MRIs that I've had done. He's all about prescription drugs, which are not always the one and only solution. I've had poor to no results from his treatment.

This doctor refused to see cash paying customers. Because, I’m told, that treatment can get quite expensive. ????

He does not care if you are in pain even though that is his specialty. He spends time listening to you but does nothing to help you. Very unhappy with the care I receive. I have been seeing him for over 2 years. In pain most of those 2 years.

Dr. Olvera is an excellent docor. I would reccomend him as one of the best anywhere. I am very glad I was referred to him. Very knowledgable and caring, excellent patient interactions. Staff is very pleasant and caring, and I have never had a wait of more then a couple of minutes - they are very efficient and do not overbook patients. If you need a rheumatologist in South Texas, you will not go wrong in choosing Dr. Olvera!

Dr. Olvera is very, kind, caring and mild mannered. He is knowledgeable and up to date on the latest treatments. There was very little waiting time and his staff were kind and efficient. He is just wonderful and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Noe Olvera is an excellent physician who is knowledgeable, caring, and has a wonderful way of communicating with patients. I have had a very positive experience with him. Great find for me.

It is a true pleasure to have someone like Dr Olvera in our community. He has excellent bedside manners & above all listens to your complaints & concerns. My husband & I think highly of him. He has helped my husbands arthritis tremendously. We are very pleased. We highly recommend him as a rheumatologist.
