Dr. Noellemarie A Barrera, DO

My wife has been a patient for several yrs after being referred by friends. She never seems to get her complaints fully addressed or treated. I have finally convinced her to leave this place after having to go from a scheduled appt directly to urgent care AGAIN. She NOW sees the inequalities in healthcare she receives from dr. Barrera. My wife said Dr. Barrera spends a max 10-15 mins w/ her. The so called, “physical” was a joke! My wife’s life matters to US & she will NOT be a statistic b/c we are leaving this practice for better! Her friends who referred her are choosing to jump ship as they too are dissatisfied w/ the care. Either you want to be a primary care doctor OR a make over consultant, but while you decide, my wife will receive care from a doc who in 2020 understands that women of color die when they aren’t being heard & when in receipt of a lesser quality of care. The objective seems to be money over care! The danger in these reviews when Piedmont rates ALL doctors… highly & we pay the price.

After years of being guinepigged Dr. Barrera found out what was wrong with me and begin treating the problem.

I have been seeing her for a couple of years now and I have developed a deep respect and appreciation for her bedside manner and quality of care. She genuinely takes an interest in her patients and tries to assist in ways which minimize the need for extraneous medications and procedures. Do not expect her to be a pushover either when it’s comes to requesting medications...because she truly cares about her patients wellbeing, she is compassionate yet critical of the need for medications that are unnecessary or are not in ththe best interest of the patient (aka don’t expect her to throw around opioids, stimulants, etc haphazardly it freely) Being an osteopath I appreciate her holistic approach to medicine and feel greatly benefited by a medical scope which seeks treatment beyond the traditional and increasingly antiquated approach exhibited in “modern” medicine.

For several years I looked for the right doctor that cared and listened to me. Each person with thyroid problems is different and that is exactly how she treats you. She is absolutely wonderful!!!!

Excellent Doctor! Actully cares about her patients. Very knowledgeable and offeres non-medicine advise as well.

Doctor Barrera has a genuine concern for her patients physical and mental well being. She not only does what is required but is cheerfully willing to do the extras that will make the difference in her patient's treatment. I recommend her without question for her accuracy in diagnosis and care of her patient.

She has a genuine concern about her patient and goes the extra mile. She is dedicated, knowledgeable, and thorough.This is the new generation of the best doctors and I recommend her for anyone needing medical treatment.

I would recommend Dr. Barrera to anyone...she is very thorough and listens to you....doesn't hurry you and is very knowledgeable....welcome to the area....we have a good doctor in town now! Trust me!!
