Dr. Nora Olson, MD

I request other doctors/NP's from this office due to too many occasions where I am either rushed out of the room to complete my appointment or my symptoms aren't real. I was off work for about a month a few years ago, trying to determine what the issue was to resolve. When seeing her, she ordered all sorts of tests and I had requested a Lyme test. I was flat out told it was NOT going to be Lyme due to fatigue is the ONLY Lyme symptom I had... According to her. She complied and stated she would test for it. So long after getting all these tests done and being billed due to many of them not being covered by insurance or only partially being covered..... a sneaking suspicion that I feel that hiking up the insurance bill is what all the tests were for.... Lyme was the ONLY test I was positive for. And if you've had Lyme, it's time sensitive to begin treatment, which I've been treated for several times prior. So I started researching Lyme on my own and found out a few years prior to this,… symptoms I had, which mimic Bell's palsy are OPENLY and an OBVIOUS symptom of Lyme. So.... I believe I've had Lyme for years, untreated. I read a review about how she dismissed a patient immediately for questioning her, 100% believe it. Trust. You may be OK with her now, while she's telling you everything that makes sense, but once you start to feel like she's questioning you, or another thing she loves to do is just put people on strong antibiotics without even knowing what the issue is yet, to get a jump on it, is also creating bodily issues for patients. You're NOT supposed to be on antibiotics all the time, it just makes it harder for your body to fight on it's own when it SHOULD be able to. BUT regardless of this doctor's bedside manner, the other doctor/NP's in the office are quite nice and so are the other staff.

Been visiting with Dr. Olsen and crew for many years and they are always professional and courteous. They are respectful of your privacy.

I have seen Dr.Olson for about 3 years and have had a generally good experience with her--that is until this past fall when I had a reaction to a medication which left me almost totally home bound, having great fatigue and inability to function--get dressed, shower, cook, etc. I was sleeping many hours daily due to exhaustion. Dr. Olson's answer--put on an alarm clock and just get up. She acted like I was making my symptoms up. When I later questioned her about why she did this, she repeatedly told me that she "won't take this" from me and dismissed me from her practice immediately. Although I tried to apologize for anything I said that angered her so much--and she was very angry when talking to me after I questioned her treatment--she refused to speak to me, dismissed me then and there in the office, with no prior warning at all. I was a good patient in that I paid my bills regularly, did not skip appointments, followed her treatment instructions, etc. This was the only time I… questioned what she had done as a doctor and she blew up in the appointment room. Dr. Olson handled this very unprofessionally and refused to even discuss it with me--I simply wanted a clarification of what she had done and why. I was not accusing her of anything during the appointment, but was disappointed in her treatment. I DO NOT recommend her as a doctor, unless you are the type of person who believes one should never question a doctor about anything and that they should be allowed to instantaneously dismiss you, without explanation at that time.

It is nice to find a Doctor that is willing to take the time to answer all of your questions. I had to change from a 20 year relaintionship with my personal physician to a new Doctor which ended up not as traumatic as I anticipated. Dr. Olson has been terrific & I appreciate her guidance in my healthcare.
