Dr. Norbert J Liebsch, MD

This man not only saved my life, but he also saved my hearing. The proton beam therapy was supposed to take out my hearing, but because he angled the beam differently, my hearing was not lost. He is always working on your case, from the first day to the last. If you have the chance to be a patient of this doctor, pay attention to the 'resume' you have to give him, don't just 'wing it'. Let him know how important it is that he becomes your doctor and that you will be an excellent patient that will follow his instructions to the letter. This isn't just any radio oncologist, he's one of the best in the world. Don't screw up your chance by giving him flip answers.

Absolutely the most thirough, committed physician I have ever worked with. He is amazingly hands-on for such a busy man. He personally supervised all of my care, spent an entire day with me during the planning stage of my treatment. He returned my calls at 10:30 at night and talked with me for an hour. He has the ability to make you feel like you are his main priority. Great doctor!

Dr Liebsch is the expert on proton beam radiation, especially for chordoma.

Referred to him by doc at Dana Farber. We were looking at an extremely rare type of chondrosarchoma but he has more than 20 years in dealing with it and as a 98% success rate with his proton beam treatment. SO THANKFUL for him. DOes have a VERY DRY sense of humor and I find him business-like but very personable. I don't care if not everyone votes him in for MR. Congeniality!

cold, rigid, uses overly dramatic (sometimes "scary") language, very scientificbut: giving of his time and unusually accurate as well as devoted to precisionjust don't ask him to be flexiblehe's excellent, he's just not easy to work with as a patient and could be off-putting.but he's apparently the best in the world in his specialty, and it's better to have someone with this expertise and devotion to precision than to have someone who will make you feel warm and cater to your wishes.
