Dr. Norberto Simon Schechtmann, MD

Dr Norberto Schechtmann, an Interventional Cardiologist, was part of my Cauterization Lab medical team who along with my primary Cardiologist, Dr Leonard Grecul, during the performance of a Left Heart Catheterization and subsequently determined requirement of a stent to open a cardiac vein stenosis. Dr. Schechtmann performed the stent implant procedure effectively and efficiently. I was able to observe the Cath. Lab team work and professionalism during the entire procedure as I was comfortably conscious in a twilight anesthetized state. Both Dr. Grecul and Dr. Schechtmann as well Cath Lab Nurses Whitney, Beatrix, Sara and Pre / Post Procedure Care Nurse Moy-Lyn were courteous, attentive, professional, very informative through the entire procedure and personable communications. I was made to feel my patient well being and comfort was of high priority. Thank you for the wonderful care I received while at the HF Palm Bay Hospital Cath. Lab and the expectations of an excellent procedure… result. 7/21/2026

My relative was referred to Dr. Schechtmann, who had recently come out of retirement. He ordered some tests and a defibillator vest that never arrived. He said he didn't think any intervention was required based on the tests. The results were still abnormal. At the six month check in, Dr. Schechtmann didn't even seem to remember my relative and didn't even listen to his heart. Two and a half months later, my relative died from cardiac arrest.

This doctor refused to treat me, He stated that I owed him a bill given the emergency and passed prior medical history of my 8 cardiac stents one of which he put in I find it highly unethical that he would refuse to follow through with their referral from my primary here physician. I find this to be very frustrating.I find it to be highly unethical,Biased and certainly not upholding his oath he took. I am going to contact my attorney in reference to this matter.

This Doctor blatantly refused to listen to me or to reason. I nearly died of arrhythmia in the Hospital last year and he still had no idea what was going on and only labeled it as a 'panic attack'! I ended up needing an ablation due to the severity of the condition I developed only a few months after he directly told me I did not need such a procedure. Thank God I found another Cardiologist locally that discovered on the first visit that I needed medical attention and had me admitted for a week to the Hospital!! After now having an ablation and a real Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist, I am fully recovered from a life threatening heart illness!
