Dr. Noris A Carrasco

I had an appointment for Dr. Noris A Carrasco at 30-96 35th St, Astoria, NY 11103, yesterday, and after arriving I signed in, presented my insurance cards and then filled out the paperwork required. I waited a reasonable amount of time then was called in and Dr. Carrasco introduced herself and asked me to sit in the dental chair. The first thing she told me was that she had a "surprise" and proceeded to explain that she no longer had a laboratory. That the person doing her lab work for many years was closing and she could no longer do work needing any lab work. I came to realize she was referring to dentures etc. I was very confused as to why she would accept my appointment in the first place if I couldn't be treated. She then told me that she could do x rays and an exam and a tooth cleaning but other than that..... This was presented to me in a extremely vague manner. I asked her if she could recommend someone in the immediate area and she said all her friends were retiring and that… she could not. I was totally baffled at this point. She said that I needed a multi-functional dental group and she thought there were a few on Steinway (Ave) and I should look into that. I was also told by Dr. Carrasco that her front desk may give me some names of such dental groups on Steinway. I then asked her if nothing could be done why was I given an appointment in the first place and her tone changed as if I shouldn't be questioning that and her answer was how was her office staff supposed to know I needed dentures? I actually didn't explicitly tell her during our conversation that I wanted dentures. I didn't discuss, really what I expected. She did ask me when I had gone to the dentist last and where and so on. I this was a very strange experience. I took Dr. Carrasco up on the teeth cleaning and nothing else since I knew it would take time to find somewhere else to go and I might as well get a cleaning in the meantime. I wouldn't recommend this dentist at all. I now honestly feel that anyone presenting themselves in such an unprofessional manner shouldn't touch anyone's mouth. This visit to Dr, Noris Carrasco's office was bizarre to say the least and I would suggest to find another dentist.
