Dr. Norma Velasco Paragas, MD

My son used to be care under Dr Paragas 17 year ago. My experience with Dr P is she is fun and sweet during wellbeing visit. However I was regret to have my son to care by her because when my son was about 3-4 year old , he used to always catch cold and start coughing, dr paragas never suggested my son to do flu shots. Since my son was always coughing, I asked dr P if my son needed to have an X-ray to chk on his lung not knowing the high risk of the radiation on children. I was a new mother with not much access to internet info as today to find out the risk of having X-ray done a little child as my son. Also Dr P never explain to me what the risk is, she did send my son to do the X-ray. Now that I learn the high risk to perform X-ray on child, I am so regret that I trusted her as I believed she was professional enough to determine what is best practices on treating my son . I hope you parents should make sure do not 100% trusting your doctor. Still need to ask for 2nd… option. I am still praying there’s no damage done due to that incident to my son.

She’s a very loving and caring doctor. She will always be there especially when you’re on the panic mode when your children are sick. She would explain to you clearly her diagnosis and makes your child feel better by merely just talking with her. She’s a very affectionate doctor with a heart. I highly recommend her.
