Dr. Norman Max Aprill, MD

Dealt with his obnoxious demeanor for years, literally can't stand him anymore.

There will never be another Dr. Aprill. Always discussed my feelings with me to find out what was going on. Put a team of doctors together that literally saved my life on several occasions. Compassionate, caring , and has a great personality. Very easy for me to tease with and he gave it right back. If you were in hospital he was there at 5am or earlier holding my hand and reassuring me. With him I had 4 other specialists. The insurance deal took what I referred to as my 'doctor god'! I cried when he retired, was devastated, still am. Now I have so many doctors and no one can figure out what's going on with me. My Dr A 'group' worked together to figure me out, they considered me an enigma. My first encounter with a 'hospitalist' was quite amusing. He was standing there with his electronic device, Dr. A walked in said good morning dear, took my hand and ask what was going on. Needless to say the hospitalist was baffled, didn't know what to do and left...without saying 'see ya'!… Dr. A I miss you so very much. (I am still sorry about the lifesavers candy too) I wish you only the best, because you are the best. Thank you, Marilyn English

I've been a patient of Dr. Aprill's since 1992. In the beginning, he was both my primary and gastro doc, but insurance put an end to that...had to be one or the other, not both. So I chose the gastroenterology specialty. I agree with the comment that his skill and disposition (especially the latter) improved with age. He attended to my situations quite well. I also agree with one commenter about the lack of getting to talk to a human at his office, especially in latter years. I never had a problem with prompt callbacks, however. Unfortunately, he is retiring in Feb. '17, and I will have to find another stomach specialist.

Dr. Aprill is awesome. I have been going to him for over 30 years. He always gets to the bottom of the problem.

Once you get into this office, everything is fine. The staff is friendly and professional. Waiting time is minimal. My biggest gripe is that no human ever answers the phone. You have to wade through a myriad of prompts and selections, leave a message and wait for somebody to call back, which usually happens about five minutes after I leave home.As far as the Dr. Aprill is concerned, he has been practicing gastroenterology forever in this town, and I have been seeing him for nearly twenty years. He is as good as or better than anyone else here in my opinion. Actually, I think has improved with age, both in skill and disposition. I have no problems recommending him to anyone.

Both Dr. Aprill & his PA are thorough and knowledgeable. They don't rush you but are still very efficient.

a total rip off. his medical fee for a 20 minute physical was $450.00. after the fact i was informed that Medicare did not cover this cost. i am a 77 yr old Sr. and to have this DR charge this outrageous fee is im moral and he shud be ashamed which i know he isnt.
