Dr. Norman Shorr, MD

Dr. Norman Shorr destroyed my face. He did experimental surgery with fat above & below my eyes. Every time I went to see him and told him I didn't look 'right' he'd remain very quiet. I called him about my issue and he said he was going to his colleagues at UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute & that was two years ago. Never heard back from him. 2-3 weeks ago I called him & he said he'd get back to me, but of course he didn't. He wants to sweep me under the rug. His ego is bigger than his skills. He believes he has got away with experimenting on my face around my eyes with fat. I have to live with what he's done to my face. DO NOT TRUST HIM.

Dr. Shorr saved my vision, my eyes, my lids and my facial features. I have had multiple surgeries and been with him for over 15 years.

I had eye surgery by Dr. Shorr a few years ago.i came in to have a eyelid lift. He suggested forehead lift and fat injections under my eyes to correct non existing hollows. Cost was very high, but he came highly recommended. Results were bad. it took almost 2 years for me not to look surprised, but still eyebrows are too high. I ended up with a pouch under one eye from fat injections. When asked him to remove it, he quoted me another outrageous price. After a few years, had it removed by another surgeon, cost me about 5000.00 to fix DR. Schorr's botched surgery.

When it comes to cosmetic surgery, don't bother. I went for a consultation for my upper eyelids. He told me I needed a forehead lift and would not do the surgery unless I had one. He was considered a world renowned ocular plastic surgeon, so I trusted his opinion. I had two other consultations with general plastic surgeons and they did not say I needed a forehead lift in order for the upper eyelid lift to be successful. Bottom line- don't believe it. I had the brow/forehead lift and it dropped back to it's original position after 5 months. Before I made my decision I asked him about how long does a forehead lift last? He told me it would last about 5 years and said that he had one patient who he had done 15 years ago and she still looked good. After 5 months, he told me he would do it again but I would have to pay for all of his costs. I was livid. The only comment his brilliant billing manager said was, that he never guarantees how someone will heel. Then why did he tell… me the forehead lift would last about five years? What does that mean? My healing process was O.K. and I looked good for about four months. All I can say is don't fall for the sales pitch. He told me he did a lot of repair work on patients other doctors have botched up. I would like to know what doctor fixes his patients work. Please understand I was not expecting perfection, but I was mislead. He didn't offer me the option of having a forehead lift at a later date. He pinned me against the wall. It was costly, painful and was not necessary.

It is a priviledge to have access to a doctor of Dr. Shorr's professional stature. He is meticulous, thorough, experienced and exceeds all expectations in professional excellence. He has surgeons hands and a great bedside manner. I am confident I am in the best hands in the world when it comes to addressing my particular condition. Dr. Shorr sets a high bar on standards. He is an example of what all physicians should strive to be.

I visited Dr Shorr after having significant trouble with other doctors regarding lateral canthal scar revisions, excess scarring and canthal rounding. Dr Shorr has methodically and systematically started by injections to dissolve the scar tissue and reduce some over-injected fat by another surgeon. After 2 weeks numerous scar bands have broken. This has opened up my eye in the outer area where the scar bands were. Fantastic job. I have a follow up meeting in two weeks to discuss the next steps.

Dr. Shorr was wonderful at a time when I really needed help. He got me through one of the toughest medical conditions in my life when I was 48. You never get over Thyroid Eye Disease but it gets a whole lot better with good medical attention which I got from Dr. Shorr. It's just a long process. I have referred others to him with the same problem.

Waited 10 years and interviewed 6 doctors for a lower eye blepharoplasty due to huge bags under my eyes. Finally found Dr Shorr who explained to me I didn't need fat removed from under my eyes, but fat repositioned and added to! He did an amazing job in Oct'10 I still look like "me", but without the tired bags,etc. He specializes in eyes and revising other doctors' work (screwed up eye jobs). He is probably one of the top 5 eye doctors in the US, super knowledgeable and kind. Love him!

my experience with Dr. Shorr and his staff left me with a feeling of being with the MUNSTERS. after being under his knife i look like a freak - he needs to have his license revoked.
