Dr. Norman Zitomer, MD

No issues with Dr. Z. Beware the administration, which may or may not send documentation, schedule incorrectly and generally not as capable in helping the patient, despite their good intentions.

I've been seeing Dr. Zitomer for a number of years. While he is very good, the office is the worst I have dealt with. You cannot schedule an appointment with Dr. Zitomer for months. There is no follow up, it is impossible to get a question answered, etc. His PA (Sergeant) has ordered lab tests. We could not get test results for days. Had to directly call the lab. Like I said, no continuation of care and no follow up.

My husband and I have been long time patients. Dr. Zitomer is a great physician. I am having stomach issues and was in the office a few months ago. I called to book an appointment and was all set. The person booking my appointment, needed to confirm my insurance card over the phone, I did not have access to it and assured her that nothing has changed. She would NOT book my appointment. I again reassured her it’s all the same information. She would NOT do it. I would NOT recommend this office. I wish I could email Dr. Zitomer directly. I really did like him.

Great doctor, poor staff.

Yesterday I had my third colonoscopy performed at Digestive Health Services by Dr. Zitomer. Again I was totally pleased with the entire experience. The entire office staff are very professional and are very efficient. Every step in the process is explained so I knew exactly what was going to take place. I could not be more pleased with my treatment and can honestly say that the procedure that most people dread was not unpleasant in the least. Even the Prep you are required to drink prior to arriving has become less distasteful over the past few years.

He is a caring, compassionate doctor who is extremely knowledgeable in his field. His staff is outstanding also. I trust him and them

Dr. Zitomer saved my life. He ran tests that other doctors failed to run and found out that I had a tumor on my pancreas. Another doctor performed the biopsy and said it wasn't cancerous, gut Dr. Zitomer encouraged me to have surgery to remove it. It was cancerous. That was 5 years ago, and I'm still in perfect health. Just surgery -- no radiation, no chemo. They caught it early and removed it. I'm healthy, active and happily and successfully raising my beautiful 10 year old twin boys.

I've had some bad experiences with doctors in the past, so I always do my research now before seeing anyone new. I was very happy to have found Dr. Zitomer. He has a wonderful bedside manner and immediately made me feel very comfortable. He has a very positive energy. A genuinely caring doctor who listened to what I had to say. I didn't feel rushed at all and he answered all of my questions...I was very impressed with him and his friendly staff. It's very rare to find such a positive office in Phoenix!

Dr Zitomer was the fourth specialist I saw for a painful condition. I found him genuinely concerned about me and he gained my confidence to the point he performed a complete colonoscopy. Earlier I had experienced an unsuccessful colonoscopy attempt. I am happy to recommend Dr Zitomer. In addition, his staff is professional and attentive. I feel fortunate to have found him. Kudos to Dr. Zitomer and his staff.

From start to finish, this doctor and his staff were excellent. I have complete confidence in Dr. Zitomer's abilities and he was very patient in addressing my questions. One of his schedulers, Carrie, went out of her way to accommodate my schedule, which was a big help. The excellent care throughout was greatly appreciated.
