Dr. Norman Zuckerman, MD

Didn’t properly assess the liver of a dead friend of mine who had pancreatic cancer before advising him to start chemo, which finished off his liver, making the cancer a lesser problem. He is dying in hospice right now of liver and kidney failure, not cancer. Negligent! I wonder if these “doctors” ever lose sleep over the emotional devastation their negligence and lack of foresight causes.

This review is somewhat delayed as I just found this web site. We moved back to Idaho some time ago and he was referenced to us and we made an appointment and met him to see if he would take over my wife's treatments for NHL. My wife asked him quite a few questions on his experience and this annoyed him. We set up an appointment for treatments and his nurse called us a few days later and he did NOT want my wife as a patient. He thinks he is too good for us? I don't know if he is a good dr or not but his "above you" attitude is good reason not to see him.

My husband had terminal stage 4 lung cancer and we knew that he probable would not survive, but when Dr. Zuckerman decided that there were to be no more treatments and they were putting him on Hospice he didn't had the courtesy or professionalism to come up 3 floors to talk to us personally. He had his Nurse Practitioner tell us. I am still angry and hurt by this and 1 year later after his death I still am receiving bills for my husbands' care by Dr. Zuckerman.

One of the most impressive Doctors I have ever met, he took his time, was encouraging and congenial Made us feel very comfortable in a very difficult situation

When asked what caused my cancer he said bad luck! Said what you eat doesn't matter! Has no faith in natural treatments! Believes in modern medicine and after all my efforts with Chinese cures, acupuncture and herbs two chemo treatments did the trick!

Dr. Zuckerman is the BEST & I highly recommend. There wasn't any office or doctor waiting, it was wonderful; the staff are VERY courteous;, doctor had wonderful bedside manners, was very respectable, spent time with me, followed up after my visits, answered all of my questions, and MOST important to me, explained my scans & acted immediately confirming my diagnoses & IMMEDIATELY started treatments for my CLL; he is very, very knowledgeable - I feel so much better, Thank you Dr. Zuckerman!!

When I needed a blood test, he refused to order it for me here in ID., and had his nurse tell me to go back to the NIH,in Maryland for the test. He does not properly numb the bone when performing bone marrow biopsies, causing a great deal of preventable pain.

He was asked some questions on how he would treat my wife, by her and he got upset that he had never been interviewed before. He then refused to treat her.

while i know he isn't the greatest with bedside manner, i know he's a great Dr. I've had 3 primery cancers and two recurrances most since he's been my Dr.going on 9 years.I'm still able to do everything i've always done ( just takes a little longer)

Don't mistake a highly strung personality, with someone only concerned with a heavy patient load, and profit.I have been under his care for 2 1/2 years. You do at times have to slow him down to satisfy questions. But I beleive if you look past some of that personality issues,he is a very experienced, very driven, excellent Doctor.I also noticed many Doctors see him if they need personal cancer treatment, thats says alot.
