Dr. Nordine Gaugau, MD

Dr G. is one of the best doctors I have ever had. If you have fibroids, go see him, even if it’s a second or third opinion, and even if it’s a long drive. Dr. G lays out all your options and explains the differences, letting you make your own decision. Every other doctor told me to get a hysterectomy for my giant fibroid, but Dr. G. helped me figure out what I wanted. I decided on embolization and myomectomy. Dr. G. even referred me to another amazing doctor (Dr. Ali) for my surgery. I did have severe pain and Dr. G. was on the phone with us every step of the way. He helped us out so much and I could never be more grateful to have found him. He is truly a great doctor and a great person.

In 2015, I had an unsuccessful UAE procedure in TN. My fibroids continued to grow and cause a lot of pain and discomfort. In Jan 2019, I found Dr. Gaugau but was very skeptical to visit his office due to my previous experience with having the UAE procedure. My initial consultation was good. He was very personal and professional. I had a previous MRI disc with me and he was able to show me the arteries supplying blood to my uterus. We agreed to do another MRI to determine if the size of fibroids grew and he needed recent visual to prep for the procedure. I didn’t follow up immediately b/c I hate doing MRIs. However, I ended up getting very sick and concluded to pain was coming from the fibroids. I ended doing th MRI in Apr 2019. During my second visit we took pictures of the MRI so I can see the fibroids and how they were pushing against my spine. Dr. Gaugau referred me an OBGYN so they could determine next steps and recommend a permanent fix to my problem. I ended having a successful… UAE perform by Dr. Gaugau. I truly appreciate how he took pictures of the entire procedure. This allowed me to see how he entered my body on the right side of pantyline with a tiny needle. The images showed how blood was disbursed to the fibroids on right and left sides of the uterus and then the after pictures when the blood supply was cut off. I’m a truly a great that there are still doctors who exist to help patients and truly care about our well being vs obtaining a paycheck.

Dr. Gaugau is by far the most amazing doctor I have ever encountered! Not only does he provide you with his personal phone number he actually encourages you to call him with any questions or concerns. The procedure has been life altering for me and my periods are back to the way they were when I was a young adult before developing fibroids. Within a week I was back up and at work and doing normal everyday activities. I did have some pain in the beginning but this was expected. I loved that the surgery was less invasive than what my other doctor recommended which was a hysterectomy. My insurance only covered a portion of the surgery because he was out of my network but it was well worth it. It's been two months since the surgery and I feel like a new woman! I no longer have bent-over-I-can't-walk cramps, huge clots, heavy bleeding, gastrointestinal issues, lower back pain and major bloating. It really has improved my life immensely and I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Gaugau!! It will change your… life ladies. Seriously do not wait and book an appointment right away if you are suffering from fibroids.

Very welcoming atmosphere. The McLean vein clinic is a hidden gem! Very professional and competent staff. The doctor is very nice and very knowledgeable.
