Dr. Nursen Gurtunca, MD

For three years I brought my son to Dr. gurtunca. She never went over any test results with me, only saying he was fine even though he was growing less than 1 inch each year. Finally after the third year, she said she no longer needed to see him. At the urging of my husband, We went and got a second opinion. Needless to say, my son has been diagnosed with severe growth hormone deficiency. Our new doctor said that his first blood work he had while with Dr. gurtunca was very indicative of this and should have been explored or at least discussed with us.. I would never recommend her to any child with a growth disorder.

Had the unfortunate experience of dealing with her for an endocrinology appointment. Rude, impertinent, leaves you feeling like the worst parent and patient ever!!!! It's very sad that she has any interaction at all with children......

I am shocked and outraged. I got this doctor bc she was filling in rotation for our regular endocrinologist . My daughter has 4 auto immune disorders and is in cyber school bc she catches every germ. She told me in front of my daughter that I "was alienating her bc she has type 1 diabetes" I should "get her a flu shot and get her back to cyber school." I explained to this uneducated woman that my daughter can't go anywhere without getting very ill and our pcp recommended cyber for her as did our gastro. She then told my daughter to " lay off the cookies" bc of weight fluxuations and sugar highs. My daughter has celiac disease....she can't have s cookie!!!! This was the worst experience ever! I hope. No child has to go to this bully!
