Dr. Nurullah Haluk Kitapci, MD

Doctor takes a long time with each patient. I have observed this over a monthly appointment over the last 18 years. He has hundreds of patients. He visits his patients in the hospital every day at 3 major hospitals plus nursing homes. He works until late at night making sure he sees every patient. I have had many doctors over my 78 year life and they generally do not take the time to listen and converse with their patients. They always are in a rush and miss many things.

This doctor is the worst ever and over charges. Each time I go to this doctor his only concern is about insurance and if I have ppo. A recent incident that occurred was Dr. Kitapci was supposed to fill out my pre-authrozation form for my insurance so I can continue to receive my medication but instead this guy went on vacation. Like who does this? He does not care about your health only about your insurance. When he seen me in the hospital he knew that he was a cardiologist and that he couldn't do anything to help me but instesd asked if I wanted to keep him as a doctor. Now that time had went on he can't do nothing for me or for my condition. So now I'm without my medication, without a proper Doctor. He does not care about you or your health only just insurance that's it.

My mother was just in South Suburban Hospital with him assigned as doctor (we're still not sure if he was viewed as internist or cardiologist) but he makes his regular rounds in the middle of the night! We are both very upset over this and will be talking to the hospital but the nurse said he routinely visits his patients between 5PM and 2AM. How can a doctor see a patient, outside of an emergency, after 9 or 10 PM? He saw her two nights in a row at 1:30 AM and 2 AM after having nurse wake her up and then she had to wait for him for 20 minutes. Complete disregard for her health and need for sleep, let alone common courtesy. No excuse for this! Would not let anyone see him. No way family can possibly be there when he is seeing patient this way plus she waited all day to talk to him and was certainly in no state to ask him decent questions in the middle of the night. (Aside from this, twice he put stethoscope to her back but didn't have the other end even in his ears! Not… sure how you can hear a heartbeat that way either!)
