Dr. Nuzhat Farooqui, MD

Maybe it’s just my opinion but this doctor was one of the few hospital doctors that worked with me instead of dictating to me. Said she wouldn’t do anything I didn’t want to and raised meds slowly as she knew I had problems in the past. I had issues with the hospital but I thought the doctor was great

My sister was a patient there recently and they just wanted to drug her up and get her out. Her issues were never really addressed. The staff nurses were nice enough but Dr Farooqui was cold, didn't listen to our family concerns and released her too soon, she was back in a different hospital 2 days later.

She fried my wife brain while in her care with her lousey drugs.

It has been more than seven years since my mother was taken to Heywood Hospital and diagnosed and "treated" by Dr. Farooqui, who wouldn't even talk to me. I was my mother's oldest child and her health agent. She looked at me with contempt, said "I only talk to one person," and then drugged my mother with enough Zyprexa to stone a horse. My mother was gentle as a lamb before her "treatment." The way Mrs. Farooqui treated me and the way she treated my mother has caused me considerable pain and suffering over the past seven years. Please, for the sake of your loved ones, and for your sake, stay away from this hospital.

Nearly six years ago my mother was a patient of hers on the geri-psych unit. My mother was transported there on the wishes of my sister who was the guardian. Still, I was the health agent, and by state law, at the time, my authority superseded that of the guardian. Still, Dr. Farooqui refused to talk to me, saying, "I only talk to one person." She then prescribed a dose of the anti-psychotic drug Zyprexa strong enough to stone a horse. Like so many elderly in this nation, my mother was unnecessarily chemical restrained. Before she was restrained my mother was as gentle as a lamb. She was out of it for six years before she died of sepsis. I battled all that time to reduce and finally stop the prescription. Please do not leave your loved ones in the care of this woman. Do not send them to this hospital.

We met this "doctor", and I use that term lightly, when my mother was a patient of hers at Heywood Hospital on the geri-psych unit. As a health professional, i would have to rate her one of the poorest I have ever come across. Her goal is not to help these poor patients but to keep them so sedated, they cannot even lift their heads off of the pillow. The unit is filthy. At night, they cram them all into a room on the far end of the unit ( left side - I snuck down there and was reprimaned ). I have reported the care to every department I can think of in the state of Ma and they are still operating. Please, do not leave your loved-one ( or even if you don't love them ) in her care. She and her staff are despicible.
