Dr. Nuzhat Iqbal, MD

As far as I can tell, Sorry to say that this doctor is really in the business to JUST do the Hospital Work. I have been diagnosed with Diverticulitis by a colonoscopy from Nuzhat Iqbal. That was a year ago. I have had two attacks and desperately needed antibiotics. First time her fastest appointment was 20 days, second time 10. They told me to go to the emergency room. That would cost me out of pocket $5,000. Went to my PCP for this, cost me $50. Anyway. Don't think you will get any immediate help from her. THE NURSES ARE GREAT THOUGH, they tried both times. Dr. Nuzhat Iqbal shot them and me down for the last time. Nuzhat Iqbal also requested for me to get a MRI before the colonoscopy. Then she had NO CLUE it existed the day of the procedure. Again, my cost $591, her gain? My follow up appointments were like slapping high fives with her assistant (that isn't there any longer I hear). I was also not informed that getting an endoscopy the same day would have been advantageous. Even… though in my initial appointment with them I covered esophagus issues. Once again, my cost her gain. I really hope you read this Dr. and do better in the future with your current followers. I do think you are a very kind and smart Dr, but I need more than that. I will move on for this doctor and continue to research my issues online and come to my Primary with information.

Was my Dr. at ER visit. I was so sick and in so much pain and she got me settled down almost immediately. No cure mind you, but at least pain level lowered.

I've seen this doctor for several years. She's never spent more than 5 minutes with me and seems irritated by questions. I often leave unclear about the treatment plan and follow up. Find someone more invested in their job and your health.

I was told my endoscopy came out normal, however my biopsy report did show some problems, I was told I needed a psychaitrist????

I came to Dr. Iqbal with a 20 year diagnosis of UC. Everything is done very professionally and by the book -- regular bloodwork, etc. Part of it is the Longmont Clinic medical records system -- I get regular reminder letters for bloodwork, the orders are always at the lab, got a notice for a bone scan, etc. She is open to alternative therapies (VSL#3) and dietary changes -- because they are substantiated by science. I would say to avoid using Longmont Clinic for infusions -- a major pain to schedule -- its not their thing. The office can easily schedule with the Longmont Hospital surgery center -- private ER style cubby, bed, TV, etc. Colonoscopies have been comfortable, no surprises, very professional -- done at the Longmont Surgery center. I hate 'em as much as anybody, but its been better than any other doctor and I trust her. Also, I have improved under her care.

Worst gi doctor she has no beside manner she doesnt listen to your needs

Like another reviewer, I saw Dr. Iqbal with symptoms of stomach pain, and heartburn. I had also been suffering from diarrhea 2-3 times a day for the 6 months prior to my appointment. She was recommended by my GP becuase he felt she was thorough and would understand my history (I lived in SE Asia at start of symptoms.) After 7 stool samples, 9 blood tests, a colonoscopy and endoscopy, she suggested I stop eating dairy. I have been lactose intolerante for several years, and told her during our first appointment that I didn't consume dairy. She didn't offer any other suggestions, and seemed very sure that this was the only solution. I felt like she didn't listen to my history, or my symptoms, and didn't really help me solve this problem. I don't understand why she would order so many tests if she thought the only problem was eating dairy. I feel like I've reached a dead end, and have only medical bills and no solution. On top of that, I've had no symptom relief. I would not… recommend her at all.

Went to every other GI doc in my area for serious symptoms, before Dr Iqbal insisted on doing another colonoscopy (the last one was only 1-1/2 years ago) and I finally cultured c-diff, after three episodes in four years with no clinical findings. Thank you, Dr Iqbal.

I have had issues with heart burn and stomach with IBS symptoms. This doctor ran and endo, capsule, and colon. I have had blood work ect. I could not even get an answer as to what was wrong with me. She never ruled out anything and never pointed me in the correct direction. Thanks for wasting my time and money. I still have no idea whats wrong with me and I am SICK!

I would highly recommend Dr. Iqbal. I was nervous enough when I had to have a colonoscopy for my first time. Dr. Iqbal made this stressful experience much more easy for me to handle. Soft spoken, professional, intelligent and friendly.
