After having the misfortune of being misdiagnosed with organ failure by CHOP adolescent medicine, our daughter was forced to spend hours in the ER undergoing tests, which were all normal (vitals, labs, physical exam, EKG, weight and BMI). She had a low heart rate, stable for over 3 months at that point, that was explained by the fact that she was a runner (this was later confirmed by a cardiologist as well). The ER physicians agreed that we could go home, but Dr. Tomescu continued to support the original misdiagnosis, with complete disregard for any test results or medical evidence. She was completely unreasonable, refusing to independently assess the evidence or have a discussion with us about the facts. She had us detained for hours, and then told us we were wasting her time. We refused to allow her to cause our daughter irreparable trauma, but we shudder to think what could have happened if we didn't fight back. This is not someone who should be treating adolescents. AVOID at all… costs.
