Reno has really grown on Dr. Okechukwu since he moved here from Wichita Kansas in 1983. He has worked in the Mental health field for over 20 years, starting as a floor nurse and then nursing supervisor at the state psychiatric hospital on Galletti Way from 2007 to 2018.
During that period, he also worked in a locked residential treatment facility for children and adolescents. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2006 and doctorate degree in Nursing practice in 2019. He employs patient-center approach in his clinical practice and strongly believes in the right of the patient to participate fully in treatment planning and decision-making, and the process should not be rushed.
