Dr. Oksana Ivanovna Aleksenko, MD

I am writing this review to share my disappointment with my recent visit to Dr. Aleksenko’s office for evaluation and treatment of hemorrhoids. I arrived expecting a proper physical examination so my condition could be accurately assessed and appropriate treatment options discussed. Unfortunately, no physical exam was performed. I was asked a few questions, and it felt as though only two words—“rectal pain and bleeding”—were heard and repeated back to me, despite my clarification that these symptoms occurred only a few times in the past when I was constipated on vacation. I explained that I have not had rectal pain or bleeding in a long time, yet this information did not seem to be acknowledged. Instead of beginning with a basic clinical evaluation, I was advised to undergo additional procedures costing several thousand dollars. Without a physical exam, I could not understand why such expensive procedures were being recommended, and I felt unheard and dismissed. A simple examination… should precede any recommendation for costly procedures. That did not happen here, and it left me feeling that my concerns were not taken seriously. Because of this experience, I have lost confidence in the care provided by this practice. I did not feel listened to, I did not feel properly evaluated, and I did not feel that patient care was prioritized. Patients deserve attentive listening, thoughtful evaluation, and clear explanations before being directed toward expensive procedures. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.
