Dr. Ola Gail Caverly, MD

Dr Caverly is the greatest!! She delivered our third child with no problems and truly very caring!! Hated when she moved from Huntsville! Best of luck always!!

Dr. Caverly was stationed around the same base as I was many years ago. If it were not for her I would not have my healthy 33 yr old son. I saw her for infertility and was blessed to have her deliver my beautiful baby. I am forever thankful to Dr. Caverly. She was compassionate and kind to my husband & I.

I took my teenage daughter, whom I had adopted from foster care to Dr. Caverly several years ago to get her started on birth control. Dr. Caverly was insistent on using a certain brand, after a few months, we went back with concerns that my daughter's personality had been severely altered (I had researched that this was a well known side-effect of this particular medication). Dr. Caverly would not hear my concerns and then verbally attacked my daughter. My daughter was behind in school due to circumstances beyond her control; we had taken this child in, trying to set her on a course for a better life. Dr. Caverly, in a very unprofessional manner told my daughter, "Look at you. You are sixteen and just starting high school. By the time I was your age, I had finished high school. You need to get yourself together." Anyone who knows anything about adopting a child who has been through trauma would understand just how hurtful and detrimental caustic comments like that would be. We… left the office and did not go back. Her behavior was inexcusable and made me question just why she was so adamant about that particular brand of birth control.

I was a patient in Texas for about 2 years. To sum it up: I waited at least 45 minutes for every appointment - even first appointments of the day. Once I waited over an hour just to get a shot. She didn't come in till I told the staff I had to leave to be at work. She lectures. Rudely. She hates men (I will get to this later) and told me all men cheat and I should be tested every 6 months for all STD's. She gave me sob stories about her stress and her mom's illness to explain her tardiness. She will make you feel stupid by criticizing your personal choices. She will talk so loudly you can hear her in the next room. I had an appointment one time, waited in the office forever. The staff was very nice and apologetic. They explained she wasn't in yet, but that she had called and would be there soon. After another hour of not being able to reach her again, they rescheduled my appointment. They said she'd double booked herself at another practice. When I finally decided to switch… doctors, I went to the office to have them send my files to my new doc. Her face blanched when I said his name. She pulled me behind the desk - where TONS of confidential files were around - and said she can't send my records to him because he is her ex husband and there is a legal problem. She told me that he is horrible, cheated on her with a patient, blah blah blah. Wow. Very unprofessional. I told her fine, may I have a copy of my records to bring to my doc of choice myself? Of course, she said. So I brought them with me to her ex husband, who was a wonderful doctor!! You bet when he asked what brought me in, I told him I didn't like my last dr and was looking for a new one who was more professional and caring. I didn't mention her or what she'd said about him but her name was all over my records. I stayed with him till he moved out of state. Do not go to this woman. She is smart, but judgemental, condescending, careless, and selfish.

My original dr retired during my term, and caverly was the other dr in the office with him, to make things easy, instead of finding a new dr, I just switched to her. Office was close to home right beside the hospital incase of emergencies. My first few visits I really liked her, she knew what she was talking about, took a lot of time to make sure your questions were answered, gave information packs about everything til I got comfortable. About 34 weeks of pregnancy, she finally did my glucose test and my numbers were outrageous, 1st caution to the baby and myself. After getting my diabetes under control it was going every week to the hospital then to her for ultrasounds and non stress tests. This was probably the only good thing she did for me. At 38 weeks, the ultrasound tech seen the cord wrapped around my babies neck 3 times. The photos were sent to the radiologist and the radiologist told Dr.caverly the cord was around my child's neck 3 times. At my dr visit that day, she told me… the cord was wrapped around my babies neck 1 time, and made it a point to tell me that she would be ok until Thursday and she could induce me and I could have a vaginal delivery and a perfect baby. Thursday was 3 days away. She said she had too many c-sections planned on Wednesday to do anything for me. That was 3 days away. On Thursday I got to the hospital and the nurse started my pitocin and by the time dr.caverly got there I was dialated to a 1, she broke my water and in less than 1 minute (no exaggeration) my babies heart rate went from 155 to low 30's and I was in surgery in less than 5 minutes. They put me straight to sleep and she cut me open, didn't numb my stomach before she cut me, I now have a big sloppy, crooked cut. And when I woke up I felt everything. The first the she did was run to my aunt and cousin who were worried because she ran me out of my room in surgery. She admitted she knew the cord was wrapped 3 times but she thought it was easier for her to do a vaginal delivery that day. And that next time that wouldn't happen. My aunt told her there would be no next time and she was a sorry excuse for a dr. When i was in recovery she came in and told me i was lucky she didn't do a midline cut down my belly. Needless to say, after making calls to administration and telling them this story, her contract was not renewed and she had to leave. During visits, she would also try to pressure you into getting mirena as the best birth control option. That the shot was a dumb excuse for birth control and most people got pregnant on the shot anyways. I'm writing this because I was lucky to have a living baby after she got done with me. I would not see this woman again, nor recommend her to anyone.

she was very gentle on examining me. took time to explain. helped me to feel better. no more pain and bad bleeding.

The staff did work me into the schedule right away when we explained it was serious. Unfortunately Caverly (I refuse to call her doctor) is the rudest, most arrogant, condescending person I've ever met. Not a hint of compassion or concern for a patient suffering from a serious infection. Spent my appointment berating me, telling my how inconvenient it was for her to see me, and telling me (and I quote) "I can't be responsible." I literally left in tears. This woman has the bedside manner of Attila the Hun. I will NEVER EVER go back and do not recommend her to anyone. A horrible experience.

just like the other patients, I had to wait an hour or more for each up appointment that I came to. after having an abnormal Pap smear, I was requested to come back in for further testing. the further testing was a colposcopy. I asked her if it was going to be painful, because I have a lot of pain during a pap smear. I was told that it would be much more painful than a pap smear, so I requested anesthesia.she told me because my insurance didn't cover it but she was n't going to give me any anesthesia. That's my choice, not hers! while performing the procedure I was screaming and crying from the pain while wriggling of the table. I begged her to stoop but she wouldn't. When over, she gave me aa "pain reducer". I am not one to take medicine without knowing what out is so I took a picture of it and looked it up later and it was a placebo! I had to go back again to get my test results when they were back. She just said "you have cancer"...no bedside manger what so ever. She then began… to tell me that it was because of hpv and mane I wouldn't have contacted it if I hadn't been so promiscuous and kept my legs closed. I have never felt so disrespected. She is the most rude doctor I have ever dealt with. After this happenedI told her I would never come back and she proceeded to charge me over $150 to fax my medical history to my new doctor. Stay away...very far away.

This woman is the worst, most rude person I have ever met in my life. I finally walked out after 3 long months of working for her due to her cussing me out one morning, because she didnt pay the phone bill for her office. She has some major issues, that really need to be addressed by a professional. She does not care about her patients or her staff. I would never recommend going to this Dr!
