Dr. Olayemi Sokumbi, MD

Out of all my 41 years of life I have never saw a dermatologist that look like me and that understood all of my issues. I have chronic atopic dermatitis and have seen several doctors in jax. My lips were changing colors and peeling ( no I don’t smoke ) and a Caucasian man told me “it’s normal , people of color lips change all the time “. After that I was done with jax providers until I found Dr. Sokumbi. She helped me determine what my issues were and even the cause of them. She was very patient and informative. Most of all I didn’t feel rushed out of her office. I see why her waiting list was so long. I waited 5 months to see her and it was definitely worth the wait. She has a patient in me for life.

I have seen Dr. Sokumbi for several years, and she is an extremely capable, knowledgeable, compassionate physician. She is also very personable, and completely puts her patients at ease from their first encounter with her. I can’t speak highly enough of the regard in which I hold her professional attributes, and her concern, care and interest for me as a patient
