Never again!

Lacking knowledge, not thorough

"I met Dr. Fishman when searching for the right neurologist for my father who is elderly, experiencing seizures and anxiety along with being very hard of hearing. Treating my dad as a patient requires a level of patience and understanding and we were looking for a doctor with a good "bed-side manner." Dr. Fishman was abrupt, hurried, condescending and she humored herself at the expense of my father. The doctor was not interested in previous test findings, nor did she care to hear anything of what my dad had to say. He had a very hard time hearing the doctor so I did most of the navigating of the conversation. Dr. Fishman prescribed a medication for my father that is notorious for causing allergic reactions. She even wrote on the script "Call if rash" Fast forward a few weeks and my father experienced a horrible reaction to the medicine where his lips swelled and blistered. Our pharmacist advised my dad to stop the medication immediately and to contact Dr. Fishman. Of course, when we… called the doctor, we were told my dad would have to come into the office and therefore wait for another appointment. The medicine is to prevent seizures and she should have been able to call in a different prescription, at the very least, for the medicines he had been on in the past and let lapse. We are in the COVID-19 pandemic right now and to ask my 80-year old father to come back to the doctor's office was uncalled for. Most doctor's offices are seeing patients virtually, especially those patients most susceptible to the virus. When I expressed my serious concerns for my father and asked for the doctor to call me, she never even called. Here is my elderly father wanting to control his seizures, the poor man is allergic to what she prescribes, and she can't even follow up or call back. I cannot recommend Dr. Fishman and we were willing to look past her brisk and pompous nature but could not look past the lack of care."

I went to her in 2013 after experiencing excruciating headaches caused by my shunt. She told me that I was fine and I was just experiencing normal headaches. Flash forward to 2016 experiencing worse headaches that I dismissed as "normal headaches" and another neurologist and neurosurgeon both reviewed my results from 2013. Both said my shunt was broken in 3 places in the 2013 scans. If I had left it the way it was I could have died. Thankfully in 2016 I had the shunt replaced and feeling much better.

Been going to Dr Fishman for yrs now, she’s a awesome Dr.

Dr. Fishman, exudes an aura of quiet confidence. She is energetic and friendly and makes sure that her patient understands her diagnosis and observation. Her knowledge and genuine concern for the patient are reassuring.

I saw this MD as a referral from Urgent Care. I thought she really ?? showed concern what I experienced. I later found out that she lied to me when I called to find out blood work results... NO good MD lies to the patient!

Would not recommend

After several months of suffering from an undiagnosed health condition, Dr. Fishman suggested that I possibly may have MS. When we asked if there was a possibility that I could have Lymes Disease she quickly became defensive suggesting that she doesn't believe in chasing the "lymes hype." If you like any amount of empathy do not schedule an appointment with Dr. Fishman. She then proceeded to tell me to "suck it up buttercup." One week later I received my confirmed Lymes diagnosis. Two weeks later I am feeling better! Please save yourself the misery and do not schedule an appointment with this woman.
