Dr. Omar Azzam Baker, MD

Dr Baker is gruff, boorish, obnoxious, condescending, hasty, and he does not listen. When treating our 8-week-old daughter, he rushed the appointment and lost his temper when asked a question about a medication he prescribed. It is unacceptable for a physician to answer a question with, "Medicine is not bad" and to rudely ignore concerns. Previous appointment with Dr Velocovik (sp?) was pleasant and thorough, but we need a practice where we can trust the doctors on call, and given the complete lack of confidence instilled by Dr. Baker, we will place our daughter under different care.

About a year ago, we switched to Riverside Pediatrics, after hearing positive reviews. Both Dr. Baker and Dr. John have been wonderful with my son and daughter. They are compassionate, understanding, and very knowledgable. The staff at Riverside Maxwell Lane location is just as great. One time, when my daughter had a fever and we were at the practice, the power went out in the building. Instead of just directing me to another Riverside practice, one of the staff members actually called on their personal cell phone to make sure we wouldn't have a wait at the other location. That is just one of the many times that Riverside has gone beyond my expectations. Riverside has many resources (including a 24-hour helpline, where you can talk to a doctor or nurse), but they are also so personable. Now, I go to their Internal Medicine Practice for adults!

My only concern is he doesn't spend any time with me to go through my issues. It's always boom boom boom - rush in and rush out.

My son has been seeing Dr. Omar Baker for over 5 years and he continuously goes above and beyond to ensure that my son is healthy. My son plays sports and always gets hurt, Dr. Baker and the staff at Riverside always make sure that he sees a specialist as soon as possible. They are always caring and attentive to my son's needs. I wouldn't take my son to any other physician and highly recommend Riverside Medical Group.

I highly recommend Dr. Omar Baker and Riverside Medical Group. My daughters have been with the practice since birth and we could not be happier. Dr. Baker demonstrates true commitment to excellence. He is extremely attentive, thorough, informative and always listens to my concerns. I never feel rushed as he takes his time with his patients (something I wish all doctors would do). He exudes a certain warmth and charisma that makes the children feel comfortable. My oldest daughter (3 years old) looks forward to seeing "Dr. Baker for stickers!" In addition, he is always available if I have any issue/concern and he always follows up to see how my girls are doing. I have recommended him and the practice to many mothers in the area and they all agree that Dr. Baker is the best.

We switched our childrens' pediatrician from Tribeca Pediatrics to Dr. Baker - Riverside Pediatrics here in downtown JC. We are very happy and trust our children under his care. The entire office is wonderful and very professional.

Dr. Baker is the pediatrician for both of my sons, my 18 month old and my 5 week old. I selected Dr.Baker after countless referrals from my coworkers, who like myself, are nurses and very selective about healthcare providers. Since my first visit with Dr.Baker in 2012, I knew that he was the perfect doctor for my kids. Not only is Dr. Baker extremely knowledgable but he is also very professional and courteous. Dr. Baker takes his time with his patients and is very sympathetic, which is so important when dealing with children. Additionally, he addresses all of the parent's questions in detail and without ever making you feel rushed. He goes out of his way to make himself available to the parents and that is a wonderful quality, which you no longer see with doctors nowadays. So, when I heard that he relocated to jersey city, I didn't think twice about following him. The new office is beautiful and very clean and his staff is beyond pleasant and helpful. I have nothing but wonderful… things to say about Dr. Baker, his staff, or his office. It's very difficult to fully trust someone with your little one's health and Dr. Baker deserves that trust which is why I recommend him to everyone that approaches me about selecting a good pediatrician.

Dr. Omar Baker has been my daughters's pediatrician since birth. He is amazing! We first started seeing him in the Secaucus location and once he announced he was moving to their latest waterfront location it was a no brainer, we followed him there. As a new mom I have always had an idea as to how I wanted to raise my daughter- something that when I started interviewing pediatricians I learned a lot of "old" school doctors don't share. He has always answered every ridiculous question and has never made me feel inadequate as a parent. As a parent, especially as a new one it's great when that is validated. His expertise is always on point, very knowledgable. And when it comes to our children having someone like this is priceless. And he's wonderful with kids. My daughter lights up when he enters the room! His nurses are great too, my daughter's favorite nurse is Stephanie.

I chose Dr Baker as my pediatrician because of many referrals from my co workers and friends. As a parent you always want to make sure that your children are healthy and under the care of a competent and caring doctor. Because of his professional and caring service I decided to keep Dr Baker as my pediatrician. Dr Baker's office located in Jersey City is not only clean, beautiful, and well equipped, but is also very welcoming. The staff always greeted me with a smile at another Riverside Pediatric office, and here they also manage to bring down my anxiety level to a zero once I walk into their office. The staff and Dr Omar Baker treat me and my children with care, respect, understanding, and diligently address all my concerns. My Children always feel comfortable at his office and always enjoy their visits with Dr Baker. Not only is the service I receive from Dr Baker outstanding, It is efficient and convenient. I do not have to make several trips to complete tests and obtain… referrals for my children's needs, everything is done under one roof. As a busy parent, I appreciate his services and all that he does to keep my children healthy. Just as other nurses and physicians recommended him to me, I recommend him to take care of your children.

My daughter has been seeing Dr. O. Baker for 2 years. We followed him to his new Essex St location (right around the corner from where I live). The brand new office is amazing and so clean. The staff was very courteous. Overall, the office exceeds the Riverside Pediatric standards of care.
