Love this surgeon, had my gall bladder out unfortunately just weeks after open heart surgery ( only in my 40's, doesn't that suck), great clinician, amazing bedside manner and just a phenomenal personality. I am a nurse and you know we are picky, so good that I am taking my college aged daughter for an evaluation, I trust him that much. So good,

His professional yet calming and charismatic personality was so appreciated in an emergency surgery situation. Over 5 days including a weekend he saw me everyday, checked his work carefully and left me smiling or laughing. One visit l watched him roll up a long ace bandage with such concentration of perfection l had to compliment him for his drive for perfection and so much attention to me and the surgery before and after. He also took charge of my release allowing me to go home only if l had someone there for several days.Two weeks later l went to his office on Ballas and was greeted with sincere, kind and relaxed staff. l highly recommend him. His charm and good looks will not go unnoticed as well!

Dr. Guerra always has a smile on his face. He looks you in the eyes when he's talking to you, as your the only patient that he has. I've never seen a doctor with a bigger heart. He cares and on top of it all he is a wonderful surgeon. Thank you Dr. G.

Dr guerra has done 2 surgeries on me and is always so kind. He is easy to reach on the weekends and after hours. He is always very concerned, and takes my concerns very seriously. I am so glad i was refferred to him! He also has a great sense of humor!

Like the first reviewer, my husband was referred to a Doctor at Washington University for a surgery that was more than 2 months away (the first available slot) and that office had extremely poor communication skills. My husband was critically ill with infections, home infusion, minor strokes, 5 ER admissions, etc. The hospital that our Primary physician uses (Progress West) could not perform the surgery but they kindly facilitated a transfer to Missouri Baptist (although I had qualms they were wonderful!) for immediate life saving surgery. We met Dr. Guerra after the ambulance transfer and he exuded confidence (not smugness!) and explained the procedure prior to surgery. He is very well thought of by the hospital nurses and staff and always greeted us like we were the only patient that he had. We will definitely recommend him to anyone needing a very skilled surgeon with a wonderful demeanor. I will not defame the other surgeon but if someone asks about him I will have to give my… honest opinion. Thank you, Dr. Guerra and staff!

I had a left hernia repaired by a wash u surgeon in 2008, laparoscopically. I had nothing but trouble for 4 years with them continually referring me to pain doctors. In 2012 I'd had enough and was referred to Dr Guerra by my Chiropractor. I went for ultra sounds at Logan college, Dr Hahn is the man to see there, service is excellent and thorough. I met Dr Guerra only once and I was immediately confident with this man, totally knows his stuff and I felt better knowing that he repairs a lot of hernias like mine. I had my surgery at Missouri baptist hospital, amazing service there from check in to check out. I'd been lead to believe that wash u were the best in st Louis, I'm not so sure I believe that anymore, i recommend Dr Guerra unreservedly.
