Dr. Osama Farouq Almadhoun, MD

Dr Almadhoun and his staff are amazing. When I wasn't sure where to go next for our daughter we found him and his team. They are great at calling with results fast and speak in terms to help you understand. Wish we would have seen him sooner and maybe she wouldn't have suffered as long as she did.

We were completely out of options when we met Dr. Almadhoun. First and foremost, he listened to us and didn't dismiss any of our thoughts or feelings. Then he began answering the many questions that we had, assuring us with his calm manner that he could help our son through his medical crisis. Even when we reached the point of surgery, every detail was well thought out so that we would have the best possible outcome. Dr. Almadhoun and his staff are quick to return phone calls. He pays close attention to detail, and he quite obviously spent time outside office visits to research and consult with other colleagues on behalf our son. He has a remarkable bedside manner and always makes a point to speak directly to our son during appointments, instead of talking 'around' him. Having Dr. Almadhoun in our corner has made a world of difference in the management of our son's disease, and we would confidently recommend him to anyone struggling with digestive issues.

After nearly nine years dealing with Children's Mercy for our son...we found the "Best Doctor Ever" in Dr. Almadhoun!!!! He carefully explained every detail on our son's disease, every detail of treatment, every possible outcome in a manner that was easy to understand. He treats his patients and their parents with the utmost respect!!!! He never talks over you or treats you in a manner that is disrespectful. His staff is completely amazing !!! We could have saved years of frustration if we would have started with him in the beginning of our son's disease. I normally never recommend a doctor. However, to be honest...Dr. Almadhoun is truly the best in his field with a compassion that far exceeds all expectations!!! My best advice if dealing with Crohns or UC in your child...start with KU first and save yourself from years of frustrations. Thank you to the staff and doctors of KU.
