Dr. Oscar David Becerra, MD

This doctor is horrible!He’s a family doctor who thinks he’s a psychologist!He spent 20 minutes prying into my son’s personal life.My son felt emotionally violated when we left.That visit was basically for a check up.

I went to Dr. Becerra because I thought he had a good reputation in the community. Unfortunately, he failed me miserably as my primary care doctor. I was struggling with recurrent pneumonia and pain, exhaustion,sore throat and tender lymph nodes and joint pain. Also, was vomiting profusely. My abdomen was so bloated that I looked 6 months pregnant. He finally referred me to an infectious disease doctor who told me I had reactivated Epstein Barr virus and to see my primary doctor as there is no treatment except for rest and symptom management. I was relieved to have a diagnosis and went to discuss it with Dr. Becerra. I needed short-term disability paperwork completed as I was no longer able to work. Dr. Becerra looked in my throat and said it wasn’t severely red and he palpated my neck and said he didn’t feel any enlarged nodes even though I told him they were tender. He went on to tell me to exercise and wrote that on my disability paperwork so that I was never reimbursed for my… first two weeks off of work. I asked him about my other varied symptoms and he told me to “Tell them to your insurance company.” I was devastated and began crying because I was so sick and felt so helpless. He told me he wouldn’t be my doctor anymore and left me without a treating physician. I could not get assigned another doctor until the first of the next month. I ended up in the hospital on the telemetry unit less than two weeks later with sepsis and pneumonia. I was found to have an immune deficiency, autoimmune disorder, paraesopageal hernia needing surgical repair and almost a complete ileus. Exercise was not what I needed after all. I was there for two weeks receiving IV antibiotics and immune globulin. I’m still very sick and unable to work. I’m on permanent disability. I have to wonder if this could have been prevented if I had an attentive doctor who listened to my physical complaints instead of dismissing me. At one point, he told me that I had a heart murmur but he wasn’t going to do any testing because I’d had “enough tests already.” I have posted this review before but it keeps mysteriously disappearing.

I've been seeing this doctor for 13 plus years. in the beginning great doctor. However when they merged with another company,he became the worst doctor. he misdiagnosed my heart attack, and cancer, tumor size of lime in the lungs. all the while I was telling him short of breath and chest pains. He spends may 3 - 5 minutes with me on each visit. do not recommend anyone in the clinic, wife same missed cancer diagnosis her doctor is diley.they became best to worst doctors of texas.

Tells me not in pain. When he doesn't have my body and in bad pain with back and legs
